Post-match Thread: Bristol Rovers v Charlton | Sat 16 Jan 2021

We’re back to winning ways again after seeing out a workman-like performance at Bristol Rovers. We can discuss the chances we didn’t put away, but we’ve done enough on the day for 3 points and a clean sheet.

Rovers weren’t very good going forward, missing many of their own clear chances. But we defended well and achieved our goal.

Over to you!

Win and a clean sheet, on the road, will always be good.

    Bristol Rovers were shite.
  • Well done Lee.

Schwartz needs to get up to match fitness soon, the rest of our strikers are dire in front of goal.
  • Will take any win at the moment, but seems deserved despite a fairly fortunate goal. Seems we are going a bit more attacking from the outset as well which is promising to see.

Long may it continue til we get the Ronnie and Chuks partnership up and running

bogle really put a shift in for 25 mins A forward he is not but great effort from him
That miss at the end doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things as we won but imagine the reaction if they got an equaliser. Should have finished it.

Millar and Maatsen combo on the left could be our greatest attacking threat this season.
  • Couldn’t watch today but followed score. Just what the doctor ordered. 👏👏👏👏

Think that for all the recent questionable stuff from Bowyer recently, he can take some credit for today.

The right (and attacking) team were put out today. After we scored and the commentators said we were making a double substitution I suspected the worst, but he has seemingly learnt some lessons and kept attacking players on (although we were somewhat limited for defensive options).

The team worked hard today, no sign of a lost dressing room.

Rovers looked poor, but we created a lot of chances.

Good win by Lee Bowyer's lost dressing room. Even Gilbey looked a yard quicker.

Wierd how much more effective you look with players in the right positions, and an semblance of a game plan and tactics.

Still not great, especially considering the opposition. But with the players to come back in, hopefully the beginners of a massive turn around.

Bristol Rovers were shit, and we should've been out of sight by half time. Oshilaja and JFC played out their skins, shame Schwartz made a better goalkeeper than striker today. Something very Wigan at home about a 1-0 win from a JFC set piece on 64/65 minutes, and we all know what happened after that

Clean sheet - relief, a tad fortunate goal - blessing, 3 points - so important ahead of Peterborough. Well done Lee and the lads

Good thing to win 1-0 but we really need to take chances that come our way, Aneke, Washington, Bogle and Schwartz were all guilty of missing decent opportunities today and against a better side we would have been punished.

Annoyed that Morgan has picked up a red, thought he and JFC we're playing really well together in midfield today.

Oshilaja MOTM for me, was solid at the back and made some critical blocks and tackles.

Bogle looked quite a bit better than recent games, but he really needs to tuck a goal or two away soon, he's getting great opportunities and never looks like scoring
  • I wonder how many more games Bowyer has got left before Sandgaard pulls the trigger.

Get in! Bogle did well when he came on.
Ronnie sadly the opposite. Win and a clean sheet whats not to like
  • Thought Morgan (red card aside) and JFC were superb and a special mention to Oshilaja who also did really well.

    Schwartz had an absolute shocker!

Vital win, the clean sheet will boost confidence and we're back up into the play off spots. Very tough game ahead on Tuesday though.

the one right near the end which was going in but hit Swartz on the line, how did that not go in???

who else thought that’s it, they’re bound to equalise now?

Bogle was actually really good. Wanted him to finish that 1on1

Schwartz a bit unlucky but I’m not worried about him. Had shown enough already, think he’ll be very good this season.

Finally Deji at CB. Amazing how that gets us a clean sheet.

Clean sheet, 3 points and should have scored more. Happy with that. Shinnie and Famewo not far away. JFC finding the form I think we all knew he was capable of doing if he stayed fit. Pratley back in midfield on Tuesday for Morgan suspension, all of sudden I'm feeling a bit more confident
