well, once i got over the dud info about purrington and gilbey being in the squad, well pleased with the starting midfield - had a mare for 15 mins but crucially we then got bewtter as the game went on whereas under LB lateley, we have been getting worse - well done Jacko - be great if him and curbs were to team up
You've probably got someone sacked ;) - With it being dud information almost reminds me of the sort of fake news to put out, simply to find the initial mole

Showed great character! When we went two down I thought that was it. Reacted well got back level before halftime and dominated second half. It was written for Jacko. Happy for him and the team, let’s see what happens this week.

How about a curbs-gritt’esque team of Jackson & Michael Beale, with curbs as advisor?

    Two good young coaches Together

Your lads did it for YOU tonight, Jacko.

Don't believe they'd have performed so well & played their hearts out for the Bow we said goodbye to yesterday.

    Onwards & upwards !

Top drawer start for Jacko. Top drawer response from the boys to come back from 2 down. Top drawer interview post match. Absolute...

  • Great comeback.  Wonderful goal by Shinnie.  Decent free kick by Forster Caskey and Washington coming up trump's again.

The players looked genuinely delighted and DJ had his best cameo for us.

Could do with 9 points from a poor Wimbledon and a tiring Doncaster and Lincoln to really set us up for the run in strongly.

Only decent? Blimey, what do you call a good one? :-)

First half I said I despised this set of players...I do when they play like that for 30 mins. Hopefully the rest is a sign of confidence returning. Washington is a man possessed, JFC is outstanding. Millar needs to be left on the bench for a while, DJ looks a lot more terrifying for a defender

    Even if we get promoted?

Think that was a typical performance of this season, with the massive difference being the team came out on top.

Even I will admit that’s a difference in the team I don’t think we’d see if Bowyer was still here

Albie Morgan had a very poor first half, but started the second much better and ended up lasting 93 minutes. That's calm management

Tbf apart from a 15-20 min wobble in the first half, they didn’t really threaten. Once again, a team comes to the valley and works their bollocks off. Problem was, Bristol Rovers completely ran out of gas (get it). Second half started scrappy as the away side tried their best to disrupt us, but they just got more knackered. Washington come alive and JFC/Shinnie continually wanted the ball, which is a great sign going forward. We need more quality in the final third at times, but when the away side are slowly retreating to their own goal after every attack, you just need that rub of the green. Still plenty more work to do, but another winnable couple of games before the real tests start.

It was well placed so agree with it being decent, maybe could have had more power but then we saw from Schwartz's penalty (and then Washington's days later) how power isnt always required.

Reckon both the wall and Goalkeeper could have done a lot better and could have stopped it

I think TS should consider what Curds said a few times. If you bring in someone who doesn’t know the players or the league, that could kill this little bit of momentum. If you get into the playoffs, anything can happen. If we get Iniss back, the defence is immediately better.

Unless you’re really sure you’ve got the best man for the long term, and are prepared to risk losing this chance, I  be inclined to give JJ a run.
        100% Correct Somerville 👍👍👍
Curbs is right and I think if I was TS I would give
JJ a chance as he does know this team and is a Charlton and is 100 Charlton through and through 👍👍

Better energy from the start, but defensive frailties remain, whether individual mistakes or a keeper who's really struggling with long shots. Famewo's heading was a bit erratic too. And while Shinnie scored an excellent goal, his corners were awful tonight.

However, much better spirit, and as Rovers tired we got stronger. Washington was the Duracell bunny, but Morgan after a meh first half really started to cause problems with his passing into channels. JFC was excellent, while Chuks (sadly for him) proved why he's such a good impact sub. DJ had a very decent cameo too, he deserves a start ahead of Millar

Jacko to me comes over like Powell did, as someone that players want to play for. I don't know whether he's got the other skills needed to be a manager, but with the international break coming up, I don't see the need to rush an appointment this week unless Thomas is certain he has the right person.

IF we can get Inniss fit quickly enough and we play Watson in front of the defence, it will be hard for the top teams we play at the end of the season to break us down. We then might get into the pkayoffs with a few 1-0s. We won't get there with a weak defence. Giving Hull, Peterboro etc a 2 goal start will not work.
    Please no, don't do that.

Compare the movement of Shinnie and F-C tonight compared with Watson and Pratley last Saturday. It's chalk and cheese.  Let's thank Pratley and Watson for their efforts and move on for the rest of the season without them starting.

In first half I don't think people gave Bristol Rovers performance enough credit, they were quality for 30 minutes with the sheer effort they put into everything. If a team chooses to do that you just weather it and hope you don't screw up. But you can't do that for 90, and the difference tonight was we kept our pace up and actually got stronger as they faded. Could've been 4 or 5 easy 2nd half, and their keeper's red was just a culmination of our ongoing pressure.

I think Curbs might want Jacko to get this job.
Felt to me like he wants Jacko to get it, but for him to be involved somehow. Perhaps DOF?

Where we are now at this specific point in time, it is enough to have a manager the team want to play for and one who knows them. Everything else can be reviewed after the season or if we can't make the play offs. If we win on Saturday there will be real momentum and it would be foolish to do anything that may affect that.

You can thank me for that win.
I had £10 on Charlton to win, both teams to score.
When we went 0-2 down (and could have been 0-4) I looked at the cash out & was pleased it was £9.
So I cashed out and of course the game changed almost immediately.
    Your welcome.

Connor coming over to chat with Scotty ... and he looks buggered.

He's put in a shift and a half tonight.

My MOTM by the length of Hangar Straight.
I'm sure it's been done but you can't beat a bit of Kenneth (that needs a photo itself  :D )

Rovers showed the problem of a new manager coming in and trying to change things drastically mid season

Barton clearly wanted them to play with much more tempo and workrate, but the players weren't fit enough to do this for more than an hour.

People saying our squad isn’t great and we are just an average side...I’m not saying you are wrong to believe that but with rovers tiring and faltering tonight and us picking up pace proves we are more than just an average side. Great result!

Very early days but I am happy with the reaction to going 2-0 down and its worth noting, whilst we are far from a finished article that's now unbeaten in 5 with a striker in form and a Ronnie Schwartz kick away from 5th spot.

Some big 6 pointers at the business end of the season ahead that may nullify the games in hand others have over us to a degree.

One thing about today I know what 11 I will put in the next pre-match tread that I would pick.  I think that's a first in months.

Something about today made me more annoyed about the LB era this season. Well done all. Not a vintage performance but we needed to put that record to bed.
