Took my first SouthEastern train to London yesterday in over 15 months. It was late and cold. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry5

Don't worry, the heating will be at full temparature once we get to the height of summer.Hertsseasider said:Took my first SouthEastern train to London yesterday in over 15 months. It was late and cold. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry9 -

Sounds made up to me. At the depot, so out of sight from the general public, very convenient, no witnesses.Covered End said:https://www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/help-and-contact/help/delay-repay-compensation

What I think actually happened is that South Eastern Trains runs an annual competition amongst its staff to invent new excuses, and "Derailment at the Depot" is the 2021 winner.
Expect to see plenty of variations on this theme in the future - points failure at the depot, failed train at the depot, chicken on the track at the depot, etc. Tossers.14 -
Trouble is the derailment was 12 months ago.5

I've been getting the train as normal all through COVID. Today was the first time that a guard walked through the carriages and asked to check tickets in over 12 months.1

Same here , i never once see anybody challenged for not wearing a mask , maybe because i never saw anyone in authority during this time .Senpai said:I've been getting the train as normal all through COVID. Do you Southeastern victims have any issues with your tickets failing to open the barriers at stations?
Pre-covid I regularly travelled up from Dorset on South Western Railways either to Charlton or to visit my Mum in Bexleyheath.
I would estimate that on at least 50% of journeys my ticket would fail to open the barrier, often at Waterloo, but most frequently the barrier linking Waterloo to Waterloo East.
Happened a couple of times at Bexleyheath too.0 -
If you get them near anything magnetic, it wipes the data off the strip. I always used to do this with my weekly ticket when I put in the same pocket as my phone which has a magnetic clasp on the cover.Six-a-bag-of-nuts said:Do you Southeastern victims have any issues with your tickets failing to open the barriers at stations?

Is that to go with the magnetic clasp on your wallet?DaveMehmet said:

I took this one at 5.30pm at Cannon Street on Monday. I’m Used to seeing it empty now but I do find it a bit depressing . Not that I want to go back to elbowing people out the way...
Some of you may find this pic sexy... so might not be safe for work.

Randomly made trains shorter today. The 7:53 to Cannon St is now 5 carriages. No info, no tweets, nothing. Arseholes.2

On the Victoria line earlier and an announcement came over that "the circle line will not be running today because of non availability of staff"!!! Wtf.
I thought to myself they must have all rung in sick.1 -

Guess who’s back, back again
southeasterns back tell a friend
well, today’s trains are royally fucked on the bexleyheath line
broken down train has caused one in three to be heavily delayed and the rest cancelled
el bastardos6 -
I got to Eltham this am and noticed 2 trains were perm 'delayed' but the 7.14 was 1 min late and the Vic train was fine. Where was the broken down train if some could get through? past Dartford?0

On my way back from volunteering I got the train from Eltham to Blackheath and then from Blackheath to Woolwich Arsenal. Both trains on time.0

I got the 6-53 from falconwood at 7-49 this morning to London bridge. Right touch as I wasn't meant to be in work today and got a call at 7.0

Yep, heavily disrupted journey this morning for thousands of people that have paid a fortune in the hope that they might occasionally get to work on time, but massive round of applause for providing a satisfactory service in the middle of the day when hardly anyone's around to see it. On balance, they're doing a terrific job, and the New Year's Honours List must be in shoe-in for David "We're proud of our record" Statham.iainment said:On my way back from volunteering I got the train from Eltham to Blackheath and then from Blackheath to Woolwich Arsenal. Both trains on time.

Due into the office for only the 2nd day this year and no trains on Sidcup line until at least 12. Not really their fault as it's caused by the derailment but still bloody typical.0
