Since Sangaard arrived these are the 'Gallen' signings:

    Gilbey
    Washington
    Maddison
    Bogle
    Watson
    Gunter
    Inniss
    Jaiyesimi
    Shinnie

    Loans:

    Smith
    Smyth
    Maatsen
    Stockley
    Levitt
    Famewo
    Millar

Wouldn't say judging from that Gallen would give off the greatest first impression to Thomas.

No mention of Gallen here. And who is Ruben?

been asked already, nobody has responded as yet.
Think I'm going to be whooshed here :-) but.... he's been in with Ged & Ruben, recruitment is a separate topic

Since Sangaard arrived these are the 'Gallen' signings:

    Gilbey - okay signing (injury)
    Washington - good signing
    Maddison - Poor signing
Bogle - poor signing or poor management?
    Watson - below average
    Gunter - below average
    Inniss - okay signing (injuries)
    Jaiyesimi - good signing
    Shinnie - good signing

    Loans:

    Smith - bad signing
    Smyth - Okay signing
    Maatsen - Good signing
    Stockley - Good signing
    Levitt - Bad signing
    Famewo - okay signing (injuries)
    Millar - Good signing

Wouldn't say judging from that Gallen would give off the greatest first impression to Thomas.
    With ridiculous restrictions in place.

Wouldn't say Shinnie was good. Spent money getting him on loan, then signing him to get in Matt Smith on loan...end up releasing him after.

Gunter and Watson on 2 year deals is an awful decision.

Jaiyesimi it's still early to say but at the moment he's only okay to me. Washington again is alright but wouldn't say I'd have him in a top League One side.

11 goals and a fair few games playing out wide is only alright?

Sure but did he cement a place in a top league one side? No.

Did he look like he could play a level above? No.

It didn't read that way to me.

To avoid multiple posts, I don't think Gallen is a Scout, in the sense that he unearths players no one else spots.  He is a "contract and contacts" man.

By that I mean I don't think we have signed anyone since he has been here that anyone in the game would have said "bloody hell where did he find him" it's more "bloody hell how did he cut a deal for him".

Forster-Caskey, Page, Inniss, Williams even Josh Parker are good examples of that.

Thing is with Colby 5ft 11ins  isn’t he just another Connor Washington 10 goals a season man - we need a 30 goals a season potential striker...like a fit version of Chuks ?
Without his injury Washington was on target for 15.
I rate Washington.  I really like his work rate, and I agree with you.  With better players around him, I think he can definitely contribute more goals

I thought the rumour out there is that Chuks hasn't rejected the deal we have put to him but neither has he signed it yet. He seems to have some Championship clubs interested and is probably weighing up his options.

Why? he isn't a Charlton fan. He needs persuading. If we wanted a team full of Charlton fans it would probably be a shit team.

If anything that makes it worse.

Takes away 2 of the best signings Gallen has made from that list.
