Dreading watching our commentators fawn over the French for a month. They’re playing on Sky now and the geezer ain’t stopped.3

Benzema has been subbed on 41mins, potentially injured
God knows who'll score their goals now for them4 -

Looks like a dead leg mate, although he looked extremely wasteful before he come off.2 -
Yeah saw on twitter rather than watching the game that he'd been subbedValleyGary said:

Presumed it was precautionary rather than anything else0 -
Pogba is a totally different player for France. 33/1 player of the tournament looks huge.0

46 goals in 108 caps for France. Deserves more respect than he gets.ValleyGary said:

Him, Benzema, Griezmann, Mbappe with Dembele and Coman as wide options. Watched a bit of their game last night, Pogba was superb. Clearly enjoys his role for France more than he does for United, him and Kante is a strong midfield duo. Their team barely has any weaknesses.
I think whoever beats France wins the tournament.

A lengthy read, but an interesting statement by Gareth none the less, about what it means to play for England.https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/dear-england-gareth-southgate-euros-soccer

Few Rules that people may not know, especially if both teams end on the same points

Thank god Lee Bowyer isnt the England Manager given the ninth point0 -
Covid cases starting to hit across the tournament.
Both Diego Llorente and Sergio Busquets will miss Spain's opening Euro 2020 match against Sweden in Seville.
Opponents Sweden also announced two positive Covid-19 cases on Tuesday - Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski and Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg.

looks absolutely nothing like gazza's hair.0 -
I've gone for Portugal or Italy to win the thing0

It’s going to be very interesting if a game does get cancelled and opposition are automatically given 3-0 win.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Covid cases starting to hit across the tournament.

I feel like this happens almost every tournament a week before it all starts with France, and less than 24 hours after I put money on them

That France group could be really interesting, I rate France and Portugal as the two favourites, and I don't rate Germany much at the moment, but then Frnace are slow starters in tournaments and have Germany up first.
Everyone is writing Hungary off, but one shock win could get them 3rd.
I've got a feeling Portugal will win the group ahead of France, and that means if we come 1st we could have a 2nd round v France, or if we come second, a Portugal QF (again).2 -
Id love to see England get as far as the semi's, but I just dont think it will happen. Our record against the top tier european teams like the France's and Belgium's hasnt really improved and theres a good chance we will come up against one of them in the 2nd round or quarters. Getting to the semi's was great in 2018 but the draw really helped us, and everytime we came up against a top tier team we lost.1

Looking forward to tomorrow.
Italy v Turkey in Rome should be an excellent game.1 -
2 strong sides. Italy will have the edge but a Turkey win wouldn't be a shock.Callumcafc said:Looking forward to tomorrow.

Think I’ll go with a 2-1 to Italy but would love to see a 2-2 or 3-2 to kick start the tournament.2

Andrea Bocelli will be performing Nessun Dorma at the opening ceremony tonight.Proper.10

buzzing for it to start, i take it this is the official thread? i know there are a couple which crossover eg. England starting team
Tonights will be tight , 1-2 Italy for me. I know alot of people have tipped Turkey to have a good tournament but not the easiest group. Could easily see them going out, not that i dont rate them but will be a tight group i guess.0
