If Jacko gets the job permanently he'll be the most handsome manager we've ever had 😎

    You guuyyyys!!!!🤣
  • My initial question is what did Dobson do to Nads to be exiled so readily?
  • really great hearing what Jacko has to say ... feet still on the ground but confident

    WHAT………Iain dowie??
  • "Listen, Sandgaard might not thank me but get the contract out, put it on the table. Let him sign it,".

"Let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there, given what he's done since he's come in. Jacko's at the wheel, man. He's doing it. He's doing his thing. Charlton are on the way BACK."

It was a joke... If you can read through the words of the quote you'll realise its what Rio Ferdinand said about Ole Gunne Solskjaer after they beat PSG 3-1 in the Champions League a few years ago

For someone in the USA that reference is far to obscure. 😂
  • We’ll…. one swallow doesn’t make a summer but that was excellent. Fully deserved the win and it could be been 2 or 3 - nil. Everything that’s been missing from the last few weeks and months… a shape that the players seemed to like, great pressure on the player on the ball, tracking runs, backing players up, doubling up out wide. We’ve been creating chances anyway, and we did again today, but the ugly stuff has been missing. It was all there today and look at what can happen when it is. A perfect start for Jackson.

No poor performances today but special mention for:

    - Purrington who was fantastic, even with the open goal miss.
    - Leko who got up and down the line really well to carry a threat in attack (and claim an assist) as well as do some solid defending. There was one great tackle in the first half.
    - Washington got no goals or assists again but his work rate at the front set the tone for the whole team. The team looks better with him in it even if there may be individuals who catch the eye more than him.
    - Stockley took it up a notch today, perhaps encouraged by Washington’s presence and performance next to him.
    - MOTM was Dobson for me. Was all over the pitch and played his role as the holding midfielder perfectly. Totally vindicated those of us who couldn’t understand why he was left out completely in recent weeks.
  • Jacko said he played a 352 who played where anyone?  Only two CBs were on!
  • Unreal away end. Up there with Pompey a few years back. What. A. Win
  • Jacko now is 2-0-0 as a manager.
4-0-0 if you include the Pizza Cup matches he unofficially took.
  • Jacko said he played a 352 who played where anyone?  Only two CBs were on!
Matthews played more or less as the RCB.

Why do we sing so fast that there isn't enough time to actually say any of the words completely?

I think we need a review of the appropriate tempo:-

Quite an unpopular opinion on here but our away support is good.

Leko played RWB - Dobson was holding midfield with Gilbey and Lee just ahead of him

  • Just had something pushed through the door after the match, looks like he won’t be coming after all!

  • The fact he went 3-5-2 right out of the gate tells me he is…
    1. willing to rock the boat a bit rather than play safe
    2. actively thinking about tactics
    Refreshing. Bravo!
  • Best performance since I can't remember when.
Everyone played well, everyone gave 100%.
We looked like a proper team from start to finish.

Well I watched the pre-show and then exiled myself from the internet, radio and any other sources of information til 5pm, at which point I switched to the bbc website hoping we'd kept a clean sheet, and was pleasantly surprised to discover we've won. Although I was slightly confused at the formation they reckon we were playing:
    Sunderland Away formation
Can someone who actually watched the game explain what it really was?
  • Very much as predicted
  • For a free hit that went pretty well.

    Jacko said afterwards 3-5-2

Dobson dropped in when we didn't have the ball, allowing Matthews to stay wide while taking some of the heat off Leko.
