Daughter's birthday party and I miss the Albie Morgan assists show...
Damn it.0 -
Have never been a Conor Washington fan but he’s really won me round over the last few months, Never normally have confidence when he is through on goal, but today had full faith in him with that one on one.
Was right in line with that ball from DJ and it was a joy to watch9 -
SDAddick said:It's another one where you wonder what would have happened if we'd sacked Adkins earlier. We weren't great Defensively but we were quite good going forward. And the difference is we just had a little bit more quality, including off the bench with DJ, and that saw us over the line. These are the kinds of games you win when you're going for the top six. We're not going to get there, but again, what if Jacko takes over earlier and we're not in quite as deep a hole?0

If, and it’s a big if, we get mostly wins from the next five, we will be on one hell of a roll. On the other hand, I could not open another bottle of Rioja.0

Thought that Wimbledon were one of the poorer teams we've faced this season
Although saying that I liked the energy shown by Assal, they'll do well to keep him - Wimbledon need to focus on playing football though, they realised we were shite at set pieces, so constantly tried throwing themselves to the floor to win a FK. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it was ludicrous.
As for Charlton, thought it was the most energetic we've looked in a while - We certainly looked as though we were passing the ball quicker, and was nice to see us actually trying to create with the ball after going 1-0 down, so often this season we just lose our heads after conceding.
The big question now from that energy, is whether we'll now see a leggy performance @ Bolton.
Thought that Morgan | Dobson | Jaiyesimi were the standouts today.
Nice to see Washington getting back into scoring form as well, with his second in as many games. Presume he's equally disappointed that he couldn't pinch the first goal as it dribbled over the line.
Probably had to much sense to do that to Inniss6 -
I thought it was a decent crowd today and somebody else mentioned the same but, come on….

I see the attendance has been given as 22486.
Presumably that is another made up one?2 -
Connor doesn’t take enough of his chances but I guess the majority of us love him cos he doesn’t stop running or give up on a seemingly lost cause! On that alone he’s very much in credit.
He took his chance well today and I never doubted he would score following a superb assist from DJ!11 -
Thought both keepers were crap today.6

Win all 4 & the play offs are officially on.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game, yes dodgy defending from both sides but generally an end to end game. So much better than the boring shite we endured earlier in the season.6
-
AFC were poor and although I think they'll stay up they are in a relegation battle.
We struggled to beat them, which sums up where we are.7 -
Really missed Greg Stubley on comms!0

For me shows what can be expected from players at this level, and that the biggest deficit is consistency. Moments of skill and athleticism were offset by some really basic mistakes. DJ varied from astonishing to wtf was that? and back again. The most consistent player (in a good way) for me was Clare.1

Where was Leko today?1

Enjoyed the game today, no comment on the 'defending'. We were the better side and deserved the 3 points but by christ, we made such hard work of it. The 20 minute spell in the 1st half where we scored the 2 goals was when we played our football and not resorted to AFCs brand of football,we dominated that period of play, unfortunately we didnt/couldnt keep it up. Very fortunate at the end not to concede when the wimbledon player decided to shoot rather than pass it into the 6 yard box where 3 of his team mates were waiting unmarked. A good win despite not playing particularly well. Sad to hear some of our 'fans' booing Burstow when he came on. Hes a kid for god sake, he didnt ask to move to chelski and by doing so has been given a chance to really make it in the game.8

By the way I did my walk back to Greenwich. Tried not to feel rejected.9 -
What an assist from DJ! Even when it was 2-2 I didn't feel like they were much of a threat - though their passes into the box always seemed to find a forward. Very happy with the win and more so that we could get a win for our Ben

I'm struggling to think of a worse 3-2 home win (somebody help me with that). Thought it was fairly boring and quite a poor standard overall, with some good bits chucked in.
DJ showed some lovely touches and played a beautiful ball for Washington's goal but was lucky not to have had a red moments before that.
I thought Wimbledon were pretty weak and we beat them with a pretty ordinary performance.6 -

I'm usually one of the first to slag off DJ, but he did well today.
I'm happy to eat a portion of humble pie. The ball for Washington's goal was a joy.
I'll forgive the air-shot, and the ball from Clare that shot under his foot at the start of the second half.
Well played, DJ. You were satisfactory today.7 -
Can someone remind me how many league games Adkins was in charge for earlier this season and how many points we got from those games? Wanted to see how many points have been won under JJ.0
-
At the game, I was surprised that DJ got a yellow, but the comments on here suggest he was a little fortunate not to get a red! Obviously you have better eyesight than me, can someone explain what went on in that tackle?0
-
Thought Jacko summed it up nicely.
“The game was a little too open and end to end for my liking at times, but we won not being at our best, which is pleasing".

A curious game, with moments of quality, interspersed with some ordinary moments. The coaches will be happy with 2 goals from corners, both excellent deliveries from Albie, one near post, one far post, while our second goal as from a glorious through ball by DJ and cool finish by Conor. On the other hand, both goals came from grim defending. The wind made things harder, but we didn't look entirely settled at the back all game, and would have been further punished by a better side. Sensible to ease Fraser in with 20 minutes. He did nothing wrong in that period, but also did nothing to suggest he ought to start on Tuesday. I was slightly surprised that Gilbey took the set pieces during this period rather than him.2
