I was on the £6.10 a pint Heineken. Tasted ok but I wish they would give you a full pint without having to ask them each time to fill it to the top! £6.10 I want a pint!!!3

Football has always had crap beers until recently but at least some clubs do now serve better.
I wonder if a better product would sell more, be more profitable. That appears to work with most other goods in the world. All the time we except and buy tasteless overpriced fizz, that’s all we will be offered.
I’d always buy a pint of anything Meantime over a pint of Fosters and such like even if if was a £1.50 more.0 -

All from one supplier (Heineken UK) under one supply contract with "safe" brands that customers recognise, and contracted across multiple sites that they operate. Mass catering has its compromises.
Even if they were willing to consider a more "attractive" portfolio of brands, it would be the case that any marginal gains in consumer sentiment and revenue would be far outweighed by logistical complexity and supply cost.
But I tend to agree, not the best...We are in the midst of the biggest local brewing boom for centuries in London, yet we bring in slop from Australia, Denmark and Yorkshire.
I guess it’s just easier to get it all from one company, especially if you don't care what you serve your customers as long as they pay.
So Spurs actually have the same beer as Charlton (or at least variations from Heineken UK) with the exception of a brew from Beavertown which is actually brewed in the stadium. When you have scale (which from a catering point of view Charlton don't in terms of both numbers and venue capacity) then you are able to add in a few extras and make it viable.
Dulwich Hamlet are at the other end of the spectrum, small enough (and unique enough) to do things differently.
I think we are stuck in the mass market middle.
Of course, a different mass market supplier would give a different (and better) portfolio. Asahi UK could be good...

It is poor quality, expensive and served by brain dead morons.
If people stop buying it the club may wake up and take notice
I have had decent sausage at Scunthorpe6 -

It's not necessarily practical on all the concourses, although we did have the late, lamented East Stand Real Ale Bar, but it would be great to get some really good beer in the North Stand Fans Bar (and in Bartram's for that matter). Credit where it's due, the club have made an effort and usually get a barrel of something like Deuchers in from the Caledonian Brewery, but I wondered if some deal could be struck with The River Ale House.
It is the 2022 South East London CAMRA Pub of the Year (and the Cider Pub of The Year), is located very nearby on the Woolwich Road and the owner, Trevor, is a Charlton supporter, who I know would be interested in some sort of arrangement. They really do source some cracking local beers.6 -

The supply side will be linked to the technical delivery of the beer (e.g. pumps, lines, gas, founts, glasses etc.) and that will all be commercially and contractually tied up, probably on the basis of exclusivity, for a given period of time.
As much as it would be a lovely thing to happen, they are unlikely to do a deal with Trevor, even if he was prepared for the significant legal, technical and financial commitment that would be required.

Peroni red and peroni grand reserva are delicious.
I'm not much of a lager drinker but Peroni is one I like3 -
Surely unless your corporate food and drink at football isn’t that important
If you’re getting pissed you’ll be in the pub till 2.58 and then just want a pint or two at HT
Food at football always has been and always will be shite, it mops up the 12 pints on an all dayer or keeps the kids happy
It’s like grown adults moaning about the kit, never get it
Having said that Fosters is horrible6 -
Use your heads. You don’t need to eat and drink inside the ground and save yourself a few quid at the same time6
