I wonder what hasn't happened? A championship club coming in for Dobson?
It would be mental to sign McGrandles and/or Payne meaning you couldn't sign a striker.1 -

the squad needed an overhaul, ins and outs. Garner may have made a decision early on that he wanted gilbey out and Payne plus another in. If there are no takers for gilbey, garner has to decide which player he wants and can use the most. Tough decisions that get overlooked by fans posting on Internet forums.1 -
Doesn’t sound as if any striker is incoming until others go out!0

We basically signed McGrandles before we went to Spain. Before Garner had the chance to look at what he had. It's that one that makes less sense to me. I am convinced we sign him based on something happening that then didn't happen.
Of course its more difficult than writing it on a football forum and I fully get that you don't necessarily get the players in in the right order.
You can't tell me that the plan was to go through the season with 2 senior strikers unless we could flog Gilbey?1 -

our top target went elsewhere, or we were hoping to move on gilbey and it fell through0 -

It may also be as simple as we didn't think we would/could get Payne and then couldn't turn down the chance. Which would be something unexpected happening.0 - Sponsored links:

It wouldnt surprise me if someone came in with a decent offer for CBT I'm sure a few championship clubs have noticed him. I supose if the money is right he could go0
-
I keep thinking that we’re in the under promise/over deliver mindset. We need to move some out to get others in. I think we all had an idea that would be the case so not a lot has changed. I would add that I’m a little worried we’ll do something silly like sell Dobson if we can’t move others on/get a decent offer from a Chanp team.5

Expectations managed, and the squad especially in midfield is too heavy, so let’s see where we are at the end of the month. Few out and maybe a couple in
but I expect the usual suspects to lose their minds over Garner’s comment8 -

either way, I would be disappointed if our transfer activity, ins and outs are finished0 -

" we have Jayden who is a proven goalscorer at this level". - just not in my set up.
"We've got Chuks, who when fit & firing is a goals scorer at this level" - yeah, and if my auntie had bollocks she'd be my uncle.
" we've got young Miles who I think will score goals at this level with time ". Yeah, just not this season as he's never played senior football before July 30th & really should be out on loan or still playing with the U23's.
Soundbites that show up the clusterfuck in all its clarity.6 -

The response was I was sent within 2 minutes. I was told I was weird.
What is weird about noting how many decent strikers have been available but not been looked . Stanley have sold 2 good strikers starting in January. We bought Aneke..
Just what are Gallen and Co looking at ?Todds_right_hook said:addick1956 said:Yesterday I wrote that Portsmouth had signed Colby Bishop who had now scored 4 goals plus Joe Pigott...and basically why didn't we......

Just what are Gallen and Co looking at ?
players that the manager wants
players that are within budget
players that are available
players that are interested in joining us
players That can be sold for a profit
players that are different to what we have
i don't think pigott would tick too many of the above. Bishop, not sure if he was on our radar, but going on his start to life at portsmouth, his goals could have been one of the missing parts to our jigsawThe whole set up of the club is based around the strategy, they play attacking football (and not worry so much about the defence) so strikers and their agents know they’ll get good figures and be in demand. Every time they’ve been promoted in the last 15 years they come straight back down, only seems to work in L11 -

'hoping' Aneke available for Saturday, so four league missed now and counting .....1

There are plenty of good players still available. We're gonna have to bide our time to get the ones we want.17 -
No striker incoming according to BG, happy with Stockley and Chuks with Leaburn as back up6

We were close on 2 signings last week said Garner 1has signed where's the other one?0

FFS! The interview is very clear. Hoping for one more but possibly more if we move someone on and free up some space in the budget. But guess what? The usual suspects pipe up stating as fact that we aren't signing anyone and yet again twist the interview contents to fit their own agenda. So fucking boring.Part of me wishes the club would just say nothing. Can you imagine the dummy spitting that would go on if Garner answered every transfer question with "no comment"Does this sense of entitlement apply to all football fans or is it just a Charlton thing?58
