Predicted we'd finish 14th preseason then revised it down to 10th after some seemingly proactive activity earlyish in the transfer window only for it to be undone by complete inactivity at the end of it.
Mid table finish.
We won't break even in next couple of years regardless of how much the squad is neglected to achieve that objective.
This is our level now.

Three players short of a side competing for promotion IMO. Maybe two. Might as well be ten with our useless owner.0

That was frustrating as fuck. Thought Payne was really good and needs to play every week alongside Dobson +1. Lack of investment in a striker is mind blowing but the quality in the final third from our wide players is unforgivable. Literally the perfect conditions to slide the ball across the corridor but we can clear the first defender. It’s absolute shite.Forest Green are a bunch of shithouses and the ref bought it big time. He should of booked the goalie after 60 mins.16

Mid to lower league 1. We'll be playing Orient in a few years.2

The first goal is so often so important and regularly teams push on and win. Not us it seems. I feel when we go ahead it is inevitable that we will concede. Sadly I am resigned to another mediocre season at best. Simply not a good enough squad of players. We all acknowledge the lack of a decent goal scorer.TS won't invest in this club so League 1 at best it is. Yes it is depressing. Tough job for Ben this season. Will do well to finish top half.3

In most games?? He's hardly played FFS.king addick said:

Thought when we started and CBT scored we were playing some good stuff and would win comfortably.....then, as usual, the bloody wheels fell off, we gifted them a goal, and the 2nd half was woeful!
As a ST holder I was going to drive down there for tonight's game, but changed my mind when I thought about a normal 7 hr round journey (not including the match) taking even longer due to the Queen arriving back in London, and the weather forecast, how glad am I! Instead having bought the stream and watched on CATV that decision to stay at home was very wise! Can't be arsed to add any more thoughts, goodnight all!2 -
That game was like wearing a cheap suit. Lacking in quality, harsh on the eye and baggy as fudge.0

The plus one has to be Fraser due to him knowing where the goal is. Forest Green were shit and if we had a bit more composure we would have put the game to bed. Could have lost it in the end.ValleyGary said:That was frustrating as fuck. Thought Payne was really good and needs to play every week alongside Dobson +1. The good old 442 day comes round earlier every year. The kids used to like it but it's far too commercialised now...Lincsaddick said:
I said before the game, Thomas is in the building, an experienced defender, play him at left back .. our strikers are useless in a 4 3 3 f f s garner try a 4 4 2 .. a look at the table shows clearly that our problems are not just in attack .. we also concede far too many .. Inniss out banned for just one game, pity it's not 10 .. GOOD, i m o the bloke is a fucking liabilityLeuth said:Our biggest problem today was left-back. Chin was struggling defensively (although he was decent in possession) and then Clayden put on an exhibition of awful attacking play0 -

We are bang average, mid table league one it is again. TS 5 year plan might need a rethink!

Were you in the ground? If so where? He was tackling and passing well. Shouldn’t have got a yellow card but the ref was an extra man for the opposition.cafcsinger said:McGrandles was just dire, one of the worst performances i've seen of a player in a Charlton shirt7 -
Okay then....those very few games he's been in...he's been terrible.greenwichred68 said:

We are six points behind target now.
Every game against every team with every referee is going to have similar shenanigans in this division. We are unable to overcome those circumstances, legislate for the inevitable horribleness of it all, and rise above it enough to win.
Six points behind target, that means sustain home wins if that ever come about, and three successive away wins, followed by away draws.
I can't see it happening, and it looks as if the season is now over.
The two things I say confidently is that Morgan should've played from the start, the upgrade on McGrandles was like going from a husk of stale bread to Black Forest Gateaux, and well done Richard Chinn on your league debut.5 -
I try not to moan too much about refs in this league unless they are really bad as it is part and parcel of playing at this level. It is our own fault.1

I'm all for giving the guy a chance, and I still think he will come good, but he looked like a fan who had won a competition to play for Charlton tonight. Even in the first half, when we looked good, he was crapgreenwichred68 said:Conor McGrandles this season whipping boy?? FFS give him a chance.5 -
Thomas was prepared to take us on when others weren't, but if there is anybody else out there who has the finance to buy out RD and TS and the know how to run the Club, the message should be crystal clear by now. HMS Piss the League is holed beneath the water line again and is sending out an S.O.S. How long will it take you to get on board and wright the ship rather than sit watching it sink?esseffect said:
Plenty of buyers out there of course.blackpool72 said:When you don't spend a penny on transfers and build your team around league two freebies.
Guess what.
The guitar playing Wankpuffin is way in over his head and the sooner he fucks off the better.
How is this even a suggestion?
A tad over dramatic I know, but I've still got a dose of those deadline day blues and only a win or two now will shake them off.1 -
Well that was a poor performance. In the 2nd half I'm paryicular they out classed us for most of it.
You cannot as young inexperienced players to come in and save a squad that is playing poorly
Pit will likely ruin them.0 -

The Ref was the worst I have seen at the Valley
a total disgrace who should be reported.
Forest Green are the worst team I have seen at the Valley in years, and we were slightly better
.
if we had a proper decent striker we would have won with ease, but we haven’t unfortunately.
We can forget about promotion with this season.
Sandguard you are so full of Bullshit !!6 -
simply do not have the players to play garner ball, sakyi, dobson, payne, maybe claire and o connell only ones in the squad capable atm, credit to the lad chin though looked double the player of clayden. Mcgrandles has been toilet so far1
-
you surely know the score (1-1) .. we win the ref gets 7s and 8s .. we lose the ref gets between 1 and 3 we draw the ref gets a rhyming 4 ((:>)MuttleyCAFC said:I try not to moan too much about refs in this league unless they are really bad as it is part and parcel of playing at this level. If the choice was McGrandles and hope to off load JFC to get a striker or JFC and get a striker someone needs a long hard look at themselves.2
-
This really is all on sandgaard. Empty stands, empty performances, empty hopes.
I think I want him gone.....7 -
Haha its our fault for how we played but the refs should be better than what's on offer..regardless of the level.MuttleyCAFC said:I try not to moan too much about refs in this league unless they are really bad as it is part and parcel of playing at this level. It is our own fault.2 -
This Garnerball seems to have got a slow puncture…it feels like I feel at the mo,very deflated…!!!1
-
JFC is a midfielder who has shown he knows where the goal is. Fraser too but he was not available. Why was he not put on? At least at the end when FGR were sitting back for the draw.2
-
Should of put them away first half. Wickham could of won it for them with his header.
McGrandles has looked very average, not sure what he brings at all. I guess that’s what you get with a free from Lincoln. Personally wasn’t impressed with Payne, looked busy but didn’t create much, although I see others liked him. Chin was better than Clayden not sure of the point of that sub. We have no options up front, Leaburn showed tonight he has a way to go before he’s ready and Stockley just never looks like scoring.
Positives for me were Clare, CBT and Dobson. Forster-Caskey must be worth a go at this point.2
