Peter Varney asking for big crowd for Brighton match (Potential Buyers?)

4 days before Xmas, really dont fancy getting stuck in London for hours and/or getting covid so close to the day and not being able to see family. 

Weekend game might have swung it in favour of attending.

 It's not about bothering for most there's a myriad of reasons. Here's 5 simple ones. 

1. It's a midweek game during a period that is very busy for most.
2. It's not 2 minutes down the road for most. 
3. It's an expensive time of year
4. There's an energy cost crisis meaning many people are having to save on top of the already expensive time of year.
5. It's none of your business. 

Point 2, what mileage from The Valley does it become "not two minutes down the road for most"?

How many games at The Valley do you attend each season btw?

About 5 first team games. Usually a couple of aways too, but I watch almost every game unless it's not shown in any way. 

I also attend often when a Charlton 11  (usually made up of U21's) plays at smaller Sussex based clubs. 

I'm open about how much I can afford to see Charlton in terms of both time and money. I still respect those not wanting to say why they can't go. 

For me, this one game I cannot attend as it's my brother's birthday meal.

Family always comes above football.  

Fair play, have a nice Christmas.

As an aside, can your brother move it to another day?!

Going with my son and brother but not really expecting anything on the pitch apart from possibly not being thrashed, especially after recent performances which have been nothing short of a disgrace even with the squad issues.

You are missing one important point Doucher. Sandgaards transfer policy and the mistakes that he has made were not based on attendance figures, certainly not as far as the transfer window just gone. We are all now becoming aware of his ego and it is that ego that has ultimately led us to where we are. I would also like to point out that your assumption that Sandgaard seemingly mistreats staff is disingenuous to staff who have either been sacked or have seen their positions under threat by a woman who by all accounts on here had no right to take up any position within the club. ' A bit of an idiot' and 'has ballsed up' is putting the club under threat and bringing it to its lowest point in living memory. I would argue that in these troubled times that a crazy pricing policy, a cost of living crisis and transport strikes have not helped attendance figures but even those problems have been dwarfed by Mr Sandgaards incompetence which is clearly having a greater effect on the numbers in attendance at the Valley.

Brilliant when I moved 300 (ish) miles away we were in the Premier League.  If I had known what would of happened I wouldn't have done it.  Hindsight.

i don't disagree with any of the things you mention that he's got wrong but i also remember us all moaning about the lack of spending in the transfer window before the start of last season - if we had sold (unrealistic maybe) 15 thousand plus season tickets, we may have got a few more top line players in so if you didn't sign up for a season ticket last year (usual caveats apply) you should be taking a look at yourself as well before bleating on about wanting this and that - i want TS gone as well now so don't think i'm defending him, i'm criticising the moaners who can't be arsed to attend the brighton game - its a free world, don't go if you can't be arsed but don't think you have the right to anything better.

I see your point but it needs to be judged by the reaction if and when a new owner takes the club on, I think the outside influences have played a part but I think most would be of the opinion that if the Valley had regular crowds of 20000 Sandgaard would probably screw that up too. 

I'll be at the game. Flying over tomorrow for Christmas with the family.

I have a ST but wont be going Saturday.....but will pay £10 to watch it on Charlton TV. 

Mad ??  Or just want to see my team play but can't be arsed to sit in the cold for 3 hours a week before xmas. 

Four bought including one for a Palace supporting relative who will be getting behind CAFC vs Brighton. Will be nice to be attending a game with a 15k plus crowd there again, regardless of what happens on the night.

I wish I could afford a ST again, not so easy being in a single income household.

I miss those days of being able to spunk money up the wall and still having more to spare, but these days I'd have to bring the squids with me so that's then 3 season tickets, it's the travel cost, the cost of food the cost of merchandise... They'll then only watch 15 minutes of the game and then whinge they're bored/cold/hungry/want a tablet/want a poo.

Sandgaard has explained how the budget works so it is a reasonable assumption given that, that the extra income from 20k crowds would go in his pocket.
