It's these lapses and ill-discipline that costs us goals for fun.7 -
The 4-3-3 gives us a blend. Dobson doing his thing, Fraser slightly more advanced and feeding our big threat (CBT) and Morgan, who has the longer-range vision to switch play/hit un-tracked runners.

A good win today and we deserved it.
if our young strikers today were consistent and had a little more confidence we would have won
5-1 without question 👍👍👍👍👍👍0 -

Fraser, Dobson and Leaburn are top class7 -
Innis is beginning to look like a proper defender again as well which is pleasing. Less fucking about and more big ugly old school centre half. Helps Ness being next to him as well, he’s a been class and really intelligent at reading danger for a 20 year old.23

I'm talking about todays game only; he's got really good potential and I'm liking what I see.6 -

Anybody know the actual attendance, fictional or otherwise, it looked sparse from the east stand.0

He put in effort, never hid, played some good passes a couple of fantastic ones and had maybe two or three bad shirt passes and one bad touch that nearly broke down our attack, but for the most part played well.
Maybe some of you just don't like the lad, because he hasn't progressed as we'd have all liked.6 -

So weird. He has a decent enough game (not great but good enough) and still gets shit on by the usual suspects.2 -

I want to give a big shout out for Sessegnon. Thought he was immense but nobody has mentioned him15

This was a team built to play an attacking 4-3-3 with a strong pressing game...with one exception, A center forward mobile enough to lead the press and strong enough to hold the ball up.
We have found, well really, we have developed, that player.
And now we have a solid attacking three, two of the best midfielders in the league in Dobbo and Fraser, and some questions at the back, but certainly improvement given the press means loads of attackers aren't constantly running at our backline.
There were a lot of good performances today: JRS, CBT, Dobbo, Leaburn, Ness, and Morgan. But Fraser really is a cut above. When you give him a freer role, he works between the lines, his movement is very clever, he creates chances, and he scores goals. We've gone all the way back to the start with the midfield three who started the season.
O'Connell coming back means one of Inniss or Ness is at risk of being dropped, and it's so nice to have competition for places in defencr again (Thomas played for the U23s on Friday as well).
A couple of quality upgrades and a couple of depth pieces in this window and this is a team that has the talent to be looking up the table and not over their shoulders.6 -
I noticed Morgan and Fraser both getting tight to the touchline a lot to find space, seemed to be part of the game plan. Off the back of that Morgan ended up in the RB position on multiple occasions, covering for Clare as he leisurely ambled back into position. Worked hard off the ball, few moments of quality on it. Decent game from Albie imo.8

I saw the team's mental concentration and physicality drop about 5 minutes before Lincoln scored, so not surprised by their goal.
Why does this happen repeatedly? I don't know.
Still, we won by playing well for most of the game.3 -
Someone said to me at the match today
”they might as well start engraving Dobbo’s name on the POTY trophy now”
I think they could be right.3 -
Charlton TV does make me laugh.
Subscribers would have found out today that curbs doesn't watch love Island4 -

It's also the biggest reason our fowards miss and our defenders cock up.0 -

hoof_it_up_to_benty said:We are still very poor defensively. Neither of our full backs are great at defending and both CBs look terrified when in possession.
A game we should have won comfortably but finishing needs to improve and some of the decision making by our forward players needs to be better. We have plenty of pace and played some good stuff but continue to be fragile.
I was convinced Lincoln would grab an equaliser.Agree about Clare though. He has lapses of concentration. Good going forward though. I much prefer Egbo.4 -

Quite common with kids in the first team. Even at the top level. Experience seems to take care of it, rather than advice that they don't need to make that foul.0
