Watched on a stream...I can't fault any player, they did us immensely proud. Our fans were amazing! Never stopped all night long - where as Man Utd fans were absolutely awful, quiet, and boring! Only made a noise when they scored..pathetic,!
Rashford was the difference in the end, but by God did we give it a go.....especially in the second half!11 -
Good effort from the lads, they gave their all. Two late goals from an England striker (when all we had to offer from the bench was Stockley & Payne) will make the score line look like it was a one sided game in tomorrow’s papers, but we didn’t disgrace ourselves. I hope the players & manager went over to thank the travelling fans, the tv coverage ended before I could see if they did.
Hopefully we made a good amount 💰 - as long as it doesn’t go straight into sandgaard’s wallet!3 -
2nd was a foul on Fraser, 3rd offside, looked a foul on Clair for a Pen.
Fantastic 1st mind.
Proud of our performance and we emptied their subs bench of their star players as they struggled to contain us.6 -
I know he scored a good goal (no thanks to blackett - taylor) but Antony for someone who did nothing else he is worth more that our whole club including the valley and sparrows lane. how our game has gone.9

you could say that, alternatively on 89 minutes at 1-0 - if we get a dangerous set-piece, one piece of magic and score. That's all it would have took so not really that comfortable or relaxed was it until the second went in which was in injury time. We kept them honest which we can be very proud of because they are light years ahead of us in all sorts of ways, but we didn’t ever look truly like we’d be able to hurt them. I don’t think that necessarily takes anything away from performance to say that, I think we did absolutely as well as could be reasonably expected. Sitting in a box at the Stretford end of the ground the support was magnificent for 90mins and another 10 after the game so proud of that team tonight and shows what this clubs all about17

At the game.
Proud of all the lads, they gave everything out there.
Two of United's biggest names made the difference in the end, but there is no disgrace in that.
Support was immense.

Those two late goals and the final scoreline don't tell the story of a very good defensive display. We held our own for almost all the second half but, let's be honest, never really looked like getting the goal we needed to force it to pens. Proud of my team though, and proud of all the loud travelling addicks who sang their hearts out.8

Waiting for a couple on our coach, here's some hurried post match views.
Fans were immense, first up. My voice is fucked. That was an object lesson in what we could be like, for any potential investors paying attention.
And we played some very tidy football, too - out from the back when they committed forward, leading to a bit of pressure that against a L1 defence would result in us having many gilt edged chances. But United had so much pace to get back and cover.3-0 is harsh, I think.Of the big names, my respect for EtH, Rashford, and Eriksen has grown, while Casemiro was very unimpressive despite the assist (this tie's Trossard, thinking the game was utterly beneath him, trying to score from his own half, and his assist was offside anyway, just to reiterate).Garnacho won't get anywhere NEAR that space in the Prem. Whoever 12 is, he's useless, we filed a missing person's report for Elanga, and Maguire being megged twice is hilarious. Fred played properly, as did McSauce, and to an extent Martinez - but we had him worried once or twice.

The above was for a United supporting friend. So more about them. They scored two late on cos we had given it absolutely EVERYTHING all game until then, and I don't think they really deserved it.
AMB has the shirt to lose. He communicated well, made good decisions, and a couple of good stops. Clare grew into it with more license to attack but Garnacho had him worried and shuttling in. That's fine, because the instruction to play narrow seemed pretty explicit, but it was worrying. Sess was GREAT both in a back 4 and 5, while I thought Ness looked fantastic. Not overawed, composed, and should be proud how he held his line, shape, and duty. Inniss obviously not good on the ball, bit equally, kept calm, which was very encouraging to see.
Dobson was immense. Interceptions, challenges, nutmegs and the rest. Couple of wayward balls but that happens when a team like United press you. Morgan also worked hard and didn't disgrace himself. Fraser could be magic on his day: ball seemed glued to his feet a few times. A couple of errors, but again, we are L1.
Rak-Sakyi played with joy and gave their defenders a little pause for thought with the threat of trickery; CBT the same with his pace. And Leaburn was kept fairly quiet by the England captain and a World Cup winning centre back, but with a few flashes, and linked up well when given the chance.
Payne worked hard; O'Connell played like he's never been away (what a massive plus he will be); Henry didn't have much time; Stockley didn't have much either.
Holden deserves an immense amount of credit for how we set up. It was fearless and we were given license to express ourselves, which they didn't expect. And it could oh so nearly have worked!
Ultimately the gulf in class was palpable, and credit to United's attitude toward actually getting the job done. Fair enough. A player worth a few times more than our club is had to break the deadlock with a lovely goal, and their manager had to bring on the big guns to make sure.

Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. The ref gave us nothing yet we didn’t get a yellow card, they got a few.
Credit to Holden for getting them going in the second half.
Their fans started leaving as early as 75 mins. Eh?
For those who watched the stream did we come across as loud, sustained and loyal as it sounded in the ground?
I suppose that gaff is called the theatre of dreams because their fans seemed asleep.
Nobody outside us will give us much credit but we were represented us well on and off the pitch.3 -
