So proud of the boys. Didn’t sit behind the ball and although we didn’t create a clear cut chance, we were always in it til the last minute. 3-0 massively flatters them.
Agree it was great, but Fraser and Morgan had free kick opps in very good positions, Morgan's was pretty close to the post. Also Fraser should have hit the target after he set himself up for a shot just after half time.
Forgot how much refs bottle it against the big clubs. Any other game we get a few more free kicks in dangerous positions. Blatant fouls that should have been yellows just waived on by a weak referee.

9,000 at old Trafford is impressive.

Biggest ever midweek away support ? Hmm maybe if you discount the FA Cup replay at shithurst 68/69, all the same fantastic to get 9000 in Manchester. Well done everybody

Edit Sadly wasn't able to watch the game, any videos of CAFC singing ?

  • Would have been great to have had Aneke off the bench instead of Stockley

  • Telling that, against top Premier League opposition when we were expected to be chasing shadows for 90 mins we didn't get a single booking, yet they had 2 yellows (should have been 3) each time for having to resort to tactical fouls to stop us.

A performance we should be proud of overall! As many have said 3-0 hugely flatters them

Heaton jumping up and punching the air when the second went in was embarrassing. Congratulations, you’re 2-0 up against mid table League One opposition.

He speaks well and he's doing well with this set of players so far.  Will be interesting to see how we set about Barnsley on Saturday.

Depends how much they’ve got left in them after tonight.

  • Great team performance. It wasn't as if we parked the bus and just defended for 90 minutes, we pressed well and had mini breakaways, just lacking the bit of quality to create a chance.

That we were still in the game in the 89th minute AND that United needed their big guns to finish us off shows how well we played. We HAVE to take that level of performance into the next few games, it's easy to raise your game at Old Trafford but we need similar commitment and organisation against Barnsley

There exists a universe where Leaburn got himself on the end of one of those crosses near the end, we took it to pens and won.

    Those lucky bastards.

Great night. Well done all. It might not be the proudest I've been of our club, but without a shadow of a doubt it's the proudest I've felt after a 3-0 defeat. That three nil, was certainly unfair in terms of desire, effort and industry, but it probably was fairer as a reflection of talent. I think we should take their substitutions as a huge compliment. This wasn't a team strolling to an easy victory who blooded a few youngsters because it would be good for their development. This was a team defending a slender lead who knew they had to bring on their world class players because without them, they could easily end up with egg on their faces. Brilliant stuff. Safe journeys home everybody.
I know what you mean, but the fact that they had hundreds of millions of Pounds worth of talent on the pitch meant nothing on the night. You could buy, and then fund Charlton for what just one of their players cost! (Anthony).
We held ‘em to 1-0 for ninety minutes, and with the rub of the green (and a better ref) we might have nicked the draw.
Immensely proud of all of the players tonight. It was much closer than the score suggested.
  • Just wasn’t meant to be…if that pitch was smaller our final ball woulda found our strikers…if it had finished 1 nil, I think we woulda rued our small chances we never took…but to let 2 in in injury time is abit gutting…ahhhhh…but heyho for me too,the boys in white done us proper proud on the night & what a cracking atmosphere from us travelling fans,Charlton Till I Die…!!!

Dean Holden talks no nonsense in his interviews, like him as our manager, need to give him the tools now to see the journey through

The whole of our end after the final whistle singing Charlton till i die, spine tingling
Wonder how many will be at The Valley on Saturday.

Well played Charlton now show the fight in Division One. Board Owner or owners give the club the backing it deserves.
Forest Green on the 14th Feb will go to general sale immediately.
    Don't be a **nt

Just got back home and all i have to say is i'm incredibly proud of every single player tonight. We took it to them in the second half and that's the reason we were picked off at the end.
I've seen us in a few quarter finals now over the years and this one was the best and that's with a poor side compared to the others.

  • Just indoors in Maidstone at 4am. Will post tomorrow but unbelievably proud of that performance, on and off the pitch.
  • Fraser and Dobson were quality tonight, quality on the ball and put in good tackles. They used the shop window well, let’s hope not too well!

MK Dons at the Valley made more noise ffs
