If Dobson or leaburn are sold, I would like to think that the fees would be invested......but this is Charlton.seth plum said:

I'm glad you are not the manager. A 17 year old Centre back in midfield ahead of an experienced l1 midfielder.seth plum said:As we stand we look something like this (assuming a 352):
Starting Eleven:
Maynard Brewer
Egbo Lavelle Ness
CBT Fraser Dobson Mitchell Payne
Leaburn Campbell
Subs:
Wollacott
Elewere
Chinn
Henry
McGrandles
Aneke
Kanu
Left out:
Kirk
Jayesemi
...and a decent group of newly signed on young players. If that is the group of players going into the first game of the season (which I doubt), I don't think we will be playing a formation where 5 of the starting 11 are out of positionI take your point regarding Mitchell/McGrandles, and no doubt other points of view are available.
I posted that team as an outline of where we stand right now.
I expect adjustments will be made, but that is the starting point as of today and one can only hope that any incoming is an improvement and my team can be adjusted.
The alarming scenario is who we might lose from that team. Can you imagine taking Dobson and Leaburn out of that line up?0 -
Yes. Unless we can trick Cheltenham into doing a straight swapsie for Charlie kirkRonnieMoore said:
Alfie May going to cost money ?mattinfinland said:From what DH has already said I do not think we will be spending money on transfers. The reason we are probably not signing anyone before the 1st of July is because we are waiting for their previous contracts to expire.2 -
Money for Leaburn would, 300kish for Dobson wouldn't go far anywayTodds_right_hook said:

Could it be that Cheltenham are being offered Kirk and / or another player (?) instead of cash for May. Would certainly complicate negotiations and possibly explain why it appears to be taking longer. No info just a thought.mattinfinland said:From what DH has already said I do not think we will be spending money on transfers. A few what? Between 300,000 and what? Not that you have a scooby of course.RonnieMoore said:

I'd be surprised if it was a cash + player move , more likely Cheltenham trying to engineer a bidding war. Although they did lose one of their CBs at the end of the season back to West Brom so Lavelle could be in play?1

I've heard the fee is around £300k. But probably heard it on here so just Chinese whispers again.1 -
Anyone else heard that May is at training ground today and Tom Hanks is showing off the new home shirt next week?!9
-
£300k for a 29yr old striker with back to back 20+ goal seasons in this league feels like good value?
Would love the Scott Banks rumour that's going around to be true too , whether that's a loan or a transfer when Palace announce their released list.0 -
Random Twitter rumours.

Knowing our luck we'll end up with the cast from the Darling Buds of May. It won't be Zeta Jones in her prime either. It will be as they are now. Pam Ferris, 75, holding midfielder alongside Dobbo. David Jason being asked to fill in as cover for Jack Payne, and the floppy haired one with the glasses up front4

I would bet my house also that Lynne hasn’t seen a report anywhere saying Alfie May has signed for Wrexham.jacob_CAFC said:

Yeah Tom is a very switched on and smart guy , I'd be surprised if we didn't get at least one of those suggestions. Would be nice if we did look at places like the League of Ireland too.1 -

Didnt expect to see him end up there... Since when have Blackpool been in League Two though?1
