I doubt anyone would ever declare Chuks to be fit.
Even if he was 'flying' in training, that may not be the case in the next half hour and who wants egg on their face?

I find it fascinating that some of you forget that he is human. As frustrating as it is for us, it's tenfold for him.

I always remember John Gregory finding it hard to understand why Stan Collymore could be depressed when he was earning £20k a week.

As for the comment about not warming up properly, unless you see what the coaching staff want from him how do you know?0 -
Looking forward to seeing his season begin today at Welling United.

Got a feeling we won’t be seeing Chuks today. He’s not been in any photos, videos, nothing on social media from him or the club, you’d usually have seen something by now.
Hopefully questions can be asked to Holden, and we get answers, but whatever is going on, I hope he’s okay because when Holden came in he said a few times that we had to make sure he had the support he needed.
People think just because you earn good money everything is fine, he spends time with his family or whatever it might be. But he’s a professional footballer and being injured can be really hard and lonely. But it’s okay, they earn good money. What kind of nonsense mentality is that?34 - Sponsored links:

Apparently Chuks has taken some radical steps to improve his fitness this summer...

I wonder if Ronnie Schwartz is over his "clear mental health issues".1 -
One thing that never gets mentioned regarding players injury is the physical pain they have to go through. I’ve been unlucky enough to have several significant injuries in my life. The injury at the time can be excruciating with bone breaks and a bit less with ligaments and less still with muscle tears. But the rehab always hurts and if your job is going to work everyday to be taken through all that needs to be done with a physio, while your mates are out on the training pitch it can’t be a bag of laughs and probably doesn’t feel like you are stealing a living.5

Sorry, haven’t read through all this, has there been any update?0

Yes, he’s not involved at Welling. Neither are Jones and Hector.0

I like Chuks. Possibly our first proper striker since Taylor who you would always bet on to score.I was pleased when he came back and enjoyed being at the Cheltenham game to see his second debut and a goal to boot.
However I do anticipate he will start the first game of the season and then go off injured.0 -

To be honest at this point i hope Chuks just calls it quits. Lets pay out his contract and save some money.0

He is not earning the money the club pay him. Football industry has no resemblance to real life.
I am certain there are no coaching staff at Charlton who are happy with his contribution.

Surely when they resigned him they had some KPI’s in his contract….0

Sounds to me he’s worked so hard to get himself back in good shape in the off season that he’s overdone it and injured his calf. Maybe the club ought to have got him someone who could train with him to prevent these issues.
Football industry might be out of touch with real life for many things, mainly at the top of the game, but it’s real life to him and for the club.
I feel sorry for him more than anything else.27 -
