here's a hot take/unpopular opinion; a fully fit and can play 90 minutes Chuks would have kept Miles out of the team for the majority of the year, and he would still be considered a raw youngster (maybe the odd cameo like Bairstow level) maybe that puts back his development an extra unnecessary year or maybe even two.
my hot take is that this year Leaburn has raised his value and stock far more than whatever we have been paying Chuks, potentially even to the extent that by basically being forced to play Miles he has developed far more than even the coaching team could have antiscipated, and financially we are actually in a better position potentially now because of it.
it's a stretch i admit.
edit; but this is definitively true about Wollocott and AMB this year, so perhaps has some merit?
It's also probably sped up his departure too and both strikers will be off in the summer.
Frustrating all round. Just a bit of dialogue around the injury would be good. I think we all want Chuks to be fit, chipper and one of our main men.
dialogue around our injuries has always been shit - its always either platitudes or complete radio silence.
Reminds me a bit of Vetokele - remember when he first turned up and teared defences up then got injured and just kinda disappeared for a year. Youga as well. Seems like the same thing with Chuks.

I completely understand this view as a fan, but where is the line drawn between the club giving the fans an update on the players injury and the player as an employee having a right to have his medical details kept private?
He’s not still injured is he? He had a hamstring strain 4 months ago
not assuming anything, but i hope the club are engaging with Chucks on mentality for now over fitness. I think the poor guy is so worried about hurting himself that it is making things worse.

Seriously needs to be thinking about retirement and getting the insurance money. I’m assuming he’s still not fit. If I’m wrong apologies Chuks.
Was fit, training on grass was wrapped cotton wool. Turns out he's allergic to cotton wool, now in hospital getting skin grafts. Likely out for the season.
It’s sad that many posters are ridiculing Chucks. I’m sure that chucks is just as frustrated and even more so for him than us. Please show some compassion rather than laughing about someone else’s misfortune.
I think he got injured in March/April. He’s had a couple of months to recover already.
I don’t think this will ever be fixed, and I think we’ll reach the point where he’ll have to retire.
I can’t see the club funding specialist further research on him, given how we are at the moment. I expect they’ll just do what they can with the physios we have and hope for the best.
if we had more money, and we were on the up, perhaps you would invest more in him to try and sort it
This may sound harsh, but has he done anything to try and overcome it, other than the standard rehab stuff? It’s his career, has he spent money on trying to get this looked at by specialists? He may argue that’s the duty of the club, but he has to take ownership as well

Everyone has sympathy but we support CAFC not Chuks Aneke. He’s a drag on the scant resources of an under financed third division football club. Taking money that could be used better elsewhere. Yes we have a responsibility for the well-being and care of our players. He’s certainly had that support but there comes a point where someone at the club needs to talk to him about retirement. I feel sorry for the lad I really do but the wages Chuks is pulling down could get us a player who can help get us out of this league. Enough is enough.

Is he fit, and raring to go?
