Given the naming convention of recent signings I'm expecting us to put in bids for Harvey Harry and Josh Jackman.PaddyP17 said:Match Lench vs Matt Dench! Jonny Giles! Mickel Platt who sounds like a fake Michel Platini! My word. What a series of names2 -
Do you think if we sign him ... he won't have a number on his back...just a symbol?Henry Irving said:Chasing keepers like Prince is a sign of the times.1 -
No surprise JRS won’t be returning and will play in the Championship.13

He is a good player and done a lot for us last season, but he is really good enough for a team that should be challenging for autos in the champ? Not convinced.Scoham said:No surprise JRS won’t be returning and will play in the Championship.

Think Ipswich signed a similar left footed forward from Chelsea. So JRS going to Leicester wouldn't be a surprise.Scoham said:No surprise JRS won’t be returning and will play in the Championship.
I have always felt our only chance of seeing him return would be in January if he doesn't get much game time and they would want him going to a familiar place.1 -
Maybe not yet but he’s someone who could play with better players in time. I would guess he’d be a squad player there with the opportunity to be a regular.jacob_CAFC said:

I’d imagine if it doesn’t work out they’ll recall him in January and loan him to a club lower down in the Championship for regular game time.
For me he needs the challenge and if it doesn’t go as smoothly as it did here that’s just part of his learning and development.4 -
He proved he's far too good for L1. Leicester could be a great move for him25
-
Yeah I think he is - not PL quality yet so another loan makes sense, but I think he'd do well at Leicester.jacob_CAFC said:

You were in fairy land if you thought JRS would come back to us this summer - he needs challenge to progress and after an excellent first year in senior football he needs to go up a level to find that challenge.
Wish him nothing but success36 -
Or we could have a Complaints thread.Redmidland said:Saw lots of unread posts this morning on this thread and thought there must be some rumours! But no its an ongoing discussion about Kirk! Any chance the mods can start a Kirk thread instead? Surely that would make sense!

One we were interested in pre-takeover. Setting our sights a little higher nowCallumcafc said:29 -
I think Kortrijk are/were owned by Vincent Tan too so it's probably a very straightforward one for them to do.1

The two we know about are Nombe and Ladapo, both of which are of a far higher standard than Davies. If either happen it will be later in the window. Personally I think that’s the right call, better to wait a couple of weeks and get someone who really improves the squad than just signing a body to fill the gap.Valley11 said:

Agreed, honestly if Leaburn wasn't injured then we'd all be more relaxed about the striker situation but he is and so here we are.Covered_End_Lad said:

I'm not blind to the case that we need to start strong but signing another Parker or Bonne because they're cheap/available will only make it harder to get a quality striker in for the rest of the season.1 -

Leaburn back before the end of August is very good news, was worried we would lose him for at least a couple of months.35

I hope you're not in a room with Penney and Kilkenny!Covered_End_Lad said:

Leaburn back before the end of August is a big bonus. Would still like another senior striker in regardless of that very good news1
-
Dean said he will be back in the first team at the end of august, but this is the same player dean said would have to have a very good pre season for his body so surely you wont see him in the squad to atleast nearer the end of september2

Back training with the first team, not in the first team.FAVADDICK said:Dean said he will be back in the first team at the end of august, but this is the same player dean said would have to have a very good pre season for his body so surely you wont see him in the squad to atleast nearer the end of september3 -
"Hello, is that the secretary of Thame United"PaddyP17 said:Jeff Louis! Dear me. What a career he's had:
"Yes"
"Do you remember Jeff Louis?"
"Can't say I do"
"He played for you in 1998 and 2001"
"Oh, yes, I vaguely remember him"
"How many games did he play for you?"
"God knows"
"How many goals did he score?"
"No idea"
"Any idea where else he played?"
"Yes, he went to Aylesbury United, Oxford United, Woking, Gravesend & Northfleet, Forest Green Rovers, Hemel Hempstead Town...."
"Slow down, my pen's not working"7 -
Yeah back training but thats not being match fit so it will be the end of september before we see him surelymendonca said:

I can see the Leaburn injury statement from DH being a bit off a bluff to see if we can bring Nombe's price down. ATM we look a bit desperate for a striker.7
