As decent as he was he was also frustrating.  Fitness issues aside he also was fairly predictable going forward.  Would have been s decent acquisition nonetheless

But we all know him and Clare will be like watching peak Maldini and Baresi when we play them

Well Oxford have managed to sign a striker on loan from Leeds according to SSN
  • Positive from the board … that they still want 2/3 players  and there’s a healthy sum in the budget that the board have provided

But it’s solely down to  Holden and Scott who they want and how they spend that money and won't buy for the sake of it or to appease fans. It has to be the right player. Until then it will loans.

Nothing we did not already know you can’t help people who make their own agenda up
    You're right, I can't help you

That was because he was played on the wrong side, hence he constantly used to cut inside.

If we don’t have better lined up, sticking with just Assimwe at right back would be poor imo

Yeah I'd imagine it was Dabo or Sess

If this is what we're supposed to judge the board on, one loaner from a Premier League side, then I think we might be in trouble again

In that case, why have we not signed Dabo?

Either will have to have their game time managed due to their longstanding injuries and yes there needs to be someone in the squad who can cover Asiimwe,  but I think in Holdens eyes Asiimwe is his preferred right back/wing back.

I think Dabo has a bigger upside to Sess, is more experienced and if the rumours are true has basically been on a month long trial with us so he should be fit and should know his teammates straight away when he signs

So anyway, another Saturday, another “ striker in by the weekend” false dawn. Going to be some real wheeling and dealing  during next week, otherwise Charlie will have some explaining to do.

Pissed off already and not expecting to be less so come five o’clock.

Apparently we have money to spend. Next week will tell but I think it's a load of crap.
  • Wigan have more money than us…

Sounds like Sess is some way behind in fitness too. Perhaps Dabbo being with the group for the last month edges him ahead. He’s ready to go.

He’ll probably sign for Wigan too.

Probably end up being deducted more points again sooner than us, the way they've been operated the last few years.

How long before Dabo starts to get a bit fed up with it all, if he's not already?

I like Sess but that uncertainty around the knee means it wouldn't work with our thin squad. That being said, there's also fitness questions over Dabo (assuming that's who we get instead).

Either way, bizarre we have left it so late on a position we're clearly short in.

If Wigan manage to do something this season with Clare at right back and Sess at left back then I’m giving up, the club is cursed, full backs was one of our biggest struggles last season and half the reason Morecambe and Accrington used to have a field day against us.

He 100 % has to prove his fitness if he wants a contract.
Another sick note is the last thing we need.

I do love it when they say that he is predominantly a right wing back but we played him on the left. 38 games mind, not just as a filler or cover when our left back was injured. Most of the flipping season.

Probably why he went elsewhere. Like Clare. Anymore round pegs in square holes ?

I really don't understand why we let Egbo go with 0 cover at all for an 18 year old who has single digit appearances at senior level. You'd have thought there would have been something lined up immediately with 100% certainty and if there wasn't Egbo should have been kept until that was the case. We now sit in such a fragile position and I'm certain a right back will come in but if he picks up a knock in the first half today we have no cover (and the same for the last few games). It's a major red flag with the ownership for me
But but ... we have money to spend

But he’s gone to Wigan who Clare also signed for, so presumably he’ll continue to play on the left.

Will Wigan next sign Todd Kane?

Maybe they have the novel idea of having 2 players to compete for one position?
