Not direct to the thread title, more a case of my health at a mere 58.
Doing nothing but lounging around for the past 48 hours, which is alien to me.

Our children (41 and 39) going up in the loft and searching through some old toys and record and finding a record of button moon theme tune, and playing it to the grand kids. Then finding the same record is being sold for £20 on eBay. Then they found tapes for games for a zinclair ZX computer and the actual computer still boxed and the subsequent discussions about the Christmases past and the fun we had when they where growing up.9

One of the girls at work is spending the weekend at Centre Parks in Elveden Forest and I said I went there in the early 90s. She replied that was before I was born.6

Feeling the need to have an adult chat with the lad about being safe in his sexual relationships, last thing you need son is to get your girlfriend pregnant, or for things to go too far, she regrets it and calls foul on you.
All knowing that my Dad wouldnt have had to have that conversation with me as although my mum may have been sexually active at 14, we were both a few years later (not for the want of trying).
Then catching up with dad who has just sold the caravan he bought of my mums current partner for £500, ised for 4 years and sold for £1,000 because they cant push it around anymore or afford an auto mover.
Dad said, its so different from when i grew up, and even probably from when you grew up. Im so glad I'm old now. Must be terribly hard being young.Literally never felt older.2 - Sponsored links:

If there hasn’t been a story about them in the News of the World then they’re not ‘celebrities’ in my book…1 -

Bloke in my department at my bank just taken VR - 47 years service - I’m now longest serving member of staff at 37 years service - 3 new joiners last few months - I was in my early, mid and late 20’s when they were born - team meeting this week, chatting with them, fucking hell I felt old - but I’m 54 in June, and I think I still look pretty sound - but being around people in their 20’s, my children aside, is a challenge
Got talking with one of them - he likes cars - as do I - but when he looked bemused when I talked about cars having a choke back in the day 🤦🏻4 -

The trouble with banks and other financial services firms is that there isn’t enough older gits around to mentor the 20 years to 40 years old people working in them. The resilience and experience you’ve built up is probably something they never will even though they are going to have to work longer.2
