Jaydn Denly has been selected for the England U19 squad to face Sri Lanka next week. He isn't the only one with close relations that have played international cricket though. Also in the squad are Rocky Flintoff (son of Freddie), Archie Vaughan (son of Michael - at Somerset because he goes to Millfield as did DBD who stayed with Kent) and Farhan Ahmed (brother of Rehan). The recent U9 WC squad also contained Hayden Mustard (son of Phil) and Luc Benkenstein (son of Dale).
The other interesting one is Matthew Carney who is still "unattached". He is the keeper who trialled with us earlier in the season but for the last couple of months has been playing for Derbyshire 2s. For both counties, he has been habitually batting at 7 without being given that much of a chance to show what he can do with the bat so the intimation has to be that, in being picked for England, he is considered to be a good keeper but not one that can bat to the level of being a top 5.
