I’m afraid you’re wrong. The jury delivered their guilty verdict and at that point he is convicted. The sentencing then follows sometimes immediately or at a later date the judge decides. Whatever that is, it doesn’t change the fact that he has been convicted.queensland_addick said:

I think it was a lone wolf loser who's fairly ignorant of politics and had he been a few years younger, would have done it at a school. Maybe he was thinking about a mall, then saw Trump was coming to town.

If that particular lawyer has given the wrong information, then I will stand corrected.
The goal of the Media and the Left generally has been to use the term "convicted felon" at every conceivable opportunity, and so I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Lawyer has a good point.
