Great performance to get the bronze, though. Made it worth sitting through the commentary.1 -
The Male commentator was well confused at the finish of the Women's Double sculls.
He said the Romanian were crumbling when they were clear of GB and close to the winning NZ.
I don't mean Matthew Pinsent.

I will post the statement made.
Which isn't to say anything about the rights and wrongs of the issue - I know nothing about the medical status of the two boxers so I have no idea what the truth is. But I do know that the IBA are angry about being chucked out of the Olympics, with the sport only allowed to continue if someone else organised the competition. While the IOC are angry about the disrepute that the Olympics were brought into by all the corruption scandals in earlier boxing tournaments, which were way worse than what's happened this year.
Personally I wouldn't trust the IBA if they told me it was raining. Others may have different views, including people who know far more about boxing that I do, but I'd want to hear views from people who aren't on one side or the other of that particular fight before I'd start trusting that the statements might be unbiased.

That could have gone either way I think. Hard luck to the girls.1

Women's Rowing:
Beaten on the line by the Dutch this time in the women's four and they get their revenge in another brilliant race.
Helen Glover has two Golds and a silver and is super mum with 3 kids.
Tough being slight favourite's against the excellent Netherlands who won from start to finish other than the ebb and flow of the boats when GB were in the lead for a split second.

I've watched a few bouts and there doesn’t seem to be any consistency 🤷♀️
But if the women who are competing aren’t happy, I would tend to believe them and in that case, they’re the only ones who should be listened to.1 -

So you believe the women competitors are lying?
What does that achieve exactly?
They want a fair fight.
These two particular athletes have been found to have an unfair advantage by an association who has a duty of care to the women athletes.

Very much not expecting to be paid out on my bet for Imane Khelif to win the women’s 66kg boxing. 4/1 starting price. Yes please .0

Sounds a bit like when people did a double take (back in the 70s) when they first heard the term 'hitting the wall', before everyone realised that it was just a metaphorical wall rather than a description of an actual incident.0 -

They are not trans athletes but it's an interesting debate that could be had. If you ban women born with high levels of natural testosterone because it gives an advantage. Do you then ban swimmers or cyclers with abnormally large lungs because it gives a natural level of advantage over their competitors? Or longer arm span length? Do you ban taller athletes in events where height is a natural advantage?
The 'fair fight' never happens because they are always natural advantages and disadvantages because we are all unique people.1 -

There's only one way to sort out the argument about transwomen being allowed to fight.1
