I think a draw means Oxford need to win their last two and a defeat means they need to win their last two. Of course that is assuming we don't get any points in our last three. I have a feeling we will get at least a point on Saturday and even though Ipswich have dropped off I can only see a defeat tomorrow.

Just a thought as I’ve not seen anything about it. Why are we not doing promotions for these last two games. Surely kids for a quid and every season ticket gets a free ticket would help pack the valley and build an atmosphere

What have the kids ever done to you?

After results today Charlton will be safe if one of the following happens

    - Charlton get 1 point from Ipswich (H) Hull (H) Swansea (A)

    - Blackburn Draw 1 lose 1 from Sheffield United (A) Leicester (H)

    - Oxford fail to beat both Sheffield Wednesday (H) Millwall (A)

Blackburn could still finish above us even if they draw one, lose one.

For that to happen they would need to lose 1-0 at and Charlton would need to lose by a margin of 5 goals in their 3 games, if we consider the fact we’re also ahead on goals scored

How the hell have we scored more goals than any other team in this league?

Our record in those types of games does not make me confident it would have a positive impact.

Personally I would prefer no gimmicks, no turning these matches into something they don’t need to be. Just do the business and get a point.

Respectfully, the opposite. I'd prefer 8000 proper Charlton and as few as possible people turning up 15 minutes late with their tickets all printed out, wandering around.

    1)  one
    2)  by preventing our opponents in one of our remaining games from scoring more goals than us

    Yes but it's still possible.

Ipswich 2-0, Hull 2-1, Swansea 2-0. Not an impossible set of results given recent form and would leave us on -17

Blackburn lose by 1 goal and draw the other they'd be on -16

Still can't believe that Leicester side has gone down. Put most of those players into other teams and they will perform far better.

4 years after reaching a European semi final they are now going to be heading to Bromley and Burton.

I just look at their starting lineup and bench from last night and don't understand how it's all gone so so wrong. It seems easy to pin it on the points deduction and multiple managers in a season but it's got to run deeper than that. Probably the highest wage bill in the league , packed with players that should stand out an absolute mile in this league and they've just collapsed into back to back relegations.

And I think you're ultimately absolutely right. A bunch of these players will get moves to other championship clubs for next season and look completely revitalised.

It gets worse for Leicester. Saw some posts saying they might be ok for one season in league one because they still have parachute payments from the PL.

Keiran Maguire has just blown that up:

"Whilst Leicester in theory have £35m of parachute payments next season, they cashed these in January by borrowing from Macquarie Bank secured against the future money from the Premier League. This means they will only earn £2m cash in broadcast money next season from the EFL"

I'm pretty sure 90% of their squad have moves lined up for next year already. They are starting from scratch with no money and some significant overheads. Their training ground cost close to £100m didn't it?

They're in big trouble I think.

    And this:
From next season, clubs in League One will be restricted to spending 60% of their extra football income - such as prize money, cup earnings or transfer fees received - on player-related expenditure.

Yeah huge trouble ahead from the overheads. The training ground will be a massive albatross to deal with financially with the running costs.

Squad will be freebies and whoever they can't shift in effect , not sure Rowett will stay on as manager

  • I’ve read that they’re either selling or renting their training ground to Forrest. They just built it and it cost something like 100mill to develop. Costs something like 15 mill a year to operate

Why would the spanners want us relegated ? If we're both in The Championship next season it's 6 easy points for them.
we should be hoping for a Millwall promotion really, will be like a six point start for us.

    Don't go there!
I'd be happy to take the 6 point deduction.

I've moved on from Millwall. For me it's all about hating Bromley these days.

Christ Millwall in the Prem. Forget Number One in South London. We'll struggle to be Number One in Charlton!!

We are not 66/1 to go down in actuality. Much more like 6/1. Very very good chance to lose all our remaining games, the biggest obstacle by far is Oxford playing their final game at Millwall, but we really don't want to be relying on that
