Indeed, I was watching on CATV and my brother was late arriving, he said he heard me scream "what a goal" from out in the street!

That could and maybe should be the EFL goal of the season. Reminiscent of Luis Suarez in his pomp.
Wasn't even the best goal scored yesterday in the EFL, let's not get ahead of ourselves here
    What was @sam3110?
Whittaker's free kick, Banel's goal for Derby both better
Apologies, but I disagree with Sam-facts.

Mine was ''get the fuck in" which would normally be fine but I was working in the office and following on here so my boss wasn't exactly thrilled...

Watching his goal back, it only happens because he reacted first to a ball out of our box - he heads it back to Coady. If he doesn't make that header he gets no ball forward into space for him to run on to. That's the part of his game that's got better, and hopefully keeps improving.
Mentioned this earlier in the thread and at the time in the stand, haven't seen any highlights with it included.
Is it in any of the highlights?

Well I'd probably have been fired in that case so maybe just as well!

Kelman shows up really well on this graph, alongside the likes of Liam Millar, Ivan Azon, Patrick Bamford and Haji Wright for “receipt value per progressive pass received”.

    Receipt value: Goals*1.1 + Shots on Target*0.95 + Shots*0.8 + Corner Won*0.3 + Foul Won*0.15 + Retained*0.1 + Lost Possession*0.02 (outcome within two actions after ball is received)

Progressive pass received: completed pass that moves the ball at least 20% closer to the opponent goal and has a gain of at least 5m forward.

Worrying thing from that though is Kelman isn’t receiving a lot of progressive passes doesn’t matter how good you are if you don’t get the ball enough

I remember when football used to be such a simple game.

Don't think i've ever had a football conversation and said "yes but have you seen his stats for completed passes that moved the ball at least 20% closer to goal and had a gain of at least 5 metres forward, they're unbelievable"

Interesting you mention xG. Charlie has an xG of 4.29 and yet has scored 7 goals. Fantastic goals to xG ratio.

Or a great sign, if we can improve the midfield and wingbacks!

And yet it’s the folks at Brighton and Brentford who pioneered all this stuff that have become established mid table Premier League sides, possibly even sniffing European this season.

You might not like it but data makes the world go round and football is no different. If you want to remain blissfully unaware of it, you still can.

Really hoping both he and Leaburn can get an uninterrupted pre-season, strike up a bit of an understanding, and start the season fully fit and confident. If those two can find their full potential, individually and as a pair, then we’ll have ourselves a good championship strike pairing for peanuts. We saw enough from both last season to suggest they have it in them, but we need more.

His goal against Oxford still feels underrated. A lovely turn and finish.

That, along with his finish against Birmingham, showed pure instinct. He knew exactly where the goal was, hit it early, and beat the keeper’s reaction time.

Such a good finisher and I don’t think we’ve seen anywhere near the best of his ability. I really hope Nathan Jones gives him more of a chance next season, I’m still a bit annoyed he dropped him for Dykes at Swansea.

I hope the plan is for Kelman to be our main man next season. I think it will be and I’ve got high hopes for him with a proper pre-season behind him

Agreed. Dropping him after his goal against Hull for Dykes was strange to say the least.
