It's funny that he walked around the pitch unaided when he went off against Oxford. That's pretty unusual for a hamstring injury.

Apart from our promotion match at Ewood and the cup game, this has got to be just about the most jinxed away day for me from the late 70`s so I am well pleased to be well out of the way for this fixture. Burnden Park can be the only other away fixture where I have felt totally jinxed in the last 35+ years.

    1-2 Charlton,

From a quick Google, a new undersoil heating system was installed last season at Ewood Park. Let’s hope they connected the boiler up correctly.

When it comes to the match, there’s far too much optimism on here for my liking. I’ll happily take a draw.

They may have improved, but Blackburn at our place were a pathetic excuse for a football team. Play like that again and we beat them

Not sure this game will go ahead according to reports Blackburn not doing anything to ensure the frozen temperatures do not affect the pitch because of their horrendous injury crisis … don’t know why their worried our record at Ewood Park is awful …

like to see unchanged team again at the moment it’s working quite well , but not sure the effect of these games in a short period have had on Burke Bell and Kelman.

It’s another must not lose a win would be a real bonus …

but given it’s Blackburn I go for 1-1 .. only because not sure conditions will be great and our own fitness levels …

Curtis Fleming said Ramsay had a calf injury, but NJ said hamstring after the Pompey game and the Blackburn preview says hamstring.

Maybe the hamstring injury happened after Oxford?

Maybe they should go into politics or get their stories right...😉

Surely the severity of the hamstring injury comes into play. From his walk round the pitch, looked like a tweak rather than a tear which would have meant he would be assisted off the pitch.

Hopefully back after fa cup game as per NJ update.

If you had any doubt that football supporters are all basically the same, read other clubs’ forums. I’ve been doing it this season and it’s remarkable.
To read Coventry’s match thread against us, even BEFORE the game, you’d think they were in big trouble.
As for Blackburn, it’s abject despair with no hope left. Apparently we’re going to win 19-0.

A few people here have now mentioned Blackburn possibly not doing anything to help the pitch on purpose. Presumably, there's rules in place to ensure a team do all they can for a game to take place.

A word of warning if anybody booked a room at Hotel Rafay in Blackburn. Cancel your booking asap if you can and book elsewhere.

We turned up last night and staff refused to let us check in. The guy on the desk was bragging about how we wouldn't get our money back either as they didn't care about consumer protection.

Fortunately, we had booked through Airbnb and were given a full refund.

Got to go for a win, Hopefully start Carey, but we must start well, with no sloppy goals.
In this league there are no games out of reach, or 'easy'. Hopefully make subs a bit earlier, and fingers crossed.

Why the raised eye emoji? I don’t have an encyclopaedic knowledge of which English clubs have undersoil heating.

Its not a failsafe (works down to -5 or so doesn’t it…..) but hopefully that helps

Possibly because Weegie Addick mentioned it further up this page, about a dozen posts ago?

Blackburn weather forcast is just -1 overnight and +1 in the day, so there should be no reason for this talk of postponement...it'll be fine.

As has been posted earlier, why did they not let you check in?
What time did you get there and what was the check in time?
