Called off due to waterlogged pitch.ForeverAddickted said:
Blackburn have already had two games abandoned this season, because their pitch is shite...follett said:I’m 10 miles away and it’s blue sky. Bolton going ahead at 12 so fingers crossed
Not saying it is definitely going to be on but they do have undersoil heating and you would hope they also covered the pitch 🙏3 -
Woolwich is so much nicerIdleHans said:
30 seconds on TripAdvisor would have been worthwhile - it's clearly a shitholeAS1987 said:A word of warning if anybody booked a room at Hotel Rafay in Blackburn. Cancel your booking asap if you can and book elsewhere.
We turned up last night and staff refused to let us check in. The guy on the desk was bragging about how we wouldn't get our money back either as they didn't care about consumer protection.
Fortunately, we had booked through Airbnb and were given a full refund.0 -
Waterlogged though wasn’t it?ForeverAddickted said:

Blackburn have under soil heating.0

Its nice that an official from Blackburn cant put out information confirming if they feel like the pitch might need an inspection or not - They must have staff at the ground, experienced enough to know the conditions, without needing the referee to get there yet... Would at least allow fans to potentially pause their journey.2
-
No snow in Blackburn. That video was 30 miles away. #cafc

Does that make this game a “doesn’t matter if we win game” then?ForeverAddickted said:
Our relegation rivals cant gain on us today then...Callumcafc said:Portsmouth v Ipswich called off

Virtually any other club and I'd take this as a positive sign but given they're a basket case it isn't filling me with confidenceForeverAddickted said:Its nice that an official from Blackburn cant put out information confirming if they feel like the pitch might need an inspection or not - They must have staff at the ground, experienced enough to know the conditions, without needing the referee to get there yet... Not heard any pitch inspection planned. Was just one area we went through where the snow was coming down. We are in Blackburn and no snow here.

9 of 12 fourth tier matches now postponed.
2 of 12 third tier matches are off, while 2 of 11 second tier matches are off at the moment.0 -
Started to lightly snow here now0
-
I was starting to feel confident of a win today. Think a postponement is now most likely.1

When was the last time Charlton played in snow?1

Have I missed something?, does snow now mean a game is automatically postponed nowadays?4

Under soil heating is not compulsory in the championship … so does not matter if they have it if not2 -

More to do with a frozen pitch. Likelihood of injuries very high in such conditions. Far more prudent to call the game off and save someone's limbs1 -

Both Pompey and Oxford games called of now … that suddenly put a little more pressure on both teams not to lose this game .. still say conditions will be very difficult if temperatures drop around 4pm this game might not finish … I think it’s a cert draw today0

Depends on the weekend - however many games I’ll be watching that day, plus one for my porn.ForeverAddickted said:

It's not a must win, but we should be playing to win, on the front foot. That's if it gets played. Not suggesting any skulduggery but a postponement might suit them.

My point is, it can snow and the pitch can be ok, just that peoples updates are pretty much saying it’s snowing so it will be off, that’s not necessarily the case is it?fenlandaddick said:Sword65pf said:Have I missed something?, does snow now mean a game is automatically postponed nowadays?

Port Vale v Barnsley called off
Damn… another monitor down8 -
Assuming this still goes ahead it could be a great time to play Blackburn with their injuries. A chance to put distance between us and the bottom three. But then our team must be shattered after the effort put in against Coventry and to go again just 3 days later is tough. Might be too much for the Addicks, close 1-0 win to Blackburn.0

Would you want to go out in it, let alone play a game of football in shorts? I don't think in this age of comforts, most of us are willing to tolerate inclement weather. Rather sit indoors in front of screen(s), and a warm drink, and staying on the coach, or at the hotel will be the next best thing.Sword65pf said:

I've always thought that results are a distraction and it's the taking part that really counts.7

Not good for Pompey, that’s two games they are going to have to squeeze in now. January is ruled out because it’s already a busy month for Championship clubs.
