You'll be heading for Weymouth nla.....together with a few hundred thousand others I would guess !!
    Perfidious Albion!!!!
  • have tent will travel cheap and easy
  • We also got a good chance of gold in the women's BMX.

It feels a bit strange being a decent sporting country!
  • eh??? from the BBC:

1025: Bombshell news from the show jumping... A number of horses have tested positive for banned substances - don't know which ones or what substance. Four have been disqualified from tonight's finale - and they will also be dq'd from the team event a few days ago. GB finished 7th in the team event - so we don't think it would affect them - but we believe it could affect the medals. Think something should develop in next 10 mins with a press conference at 1100 BST.
  • are they class hay substances?

  • We're out of the 4x100m due to Craig Pickering crossing the line.
  • A shame that with the Yanks out of the 100m relay there was a good chance of a silver.
  • What a mess up that was. Bet the poor lad is distraught but he went off way way too early. So disappointing.

and the yank women are out of the s 4 x 100 for the same thing as their men. woe.
  • And who gave the Yanks teflon batons?
  • Phillips Idowu in the lead of the hop, skip & jump after three rounds...
  • are they class hay substances?

    .........

    No, they were a-neigh-bolic steroids...
  • Idowu has jumped into the lead.
  • Nelson Evora takes the lead from Phillips Idowu with 17.67m...

  • Silver for Philips.

  • A shame - he held the lead twice and only lost by 5 cm.
  • The only guy who totally bigged up his chances, saying he would beat Edwards world record etc etc and fluffed it.

Silver is still good but his arrogance drove me mad.
  • Agree about his arrogance but still a shame he fluffed it in that he is a massive talent and well capable of emulating edwards.
  • indivdual sportsmen tend to have a streak of arrogance about them, and I don't really mind it, sometimes you just get beaten by the better man.
  • talking about people who drive me mad....

I think your clutching at Straws....
  • Just seen him being interviewed on BBC WWS. I thought he was quite down to earth and gave a decent a response, disappointed but still pleased
  • I don't think he was arrogant he was unbeaten in 9 events this year and said he was going for gold.He jumped a season best today but was beaten by the current world champion. He would have had to jump a PB to win the gold and came second by 5 centimetres. He was confident and why not if I was unbeaten all season I would have been as well.
  • The lad pickering held his hands up and said he was to blame, felt sorry for him, still very young, good of Marlon Devonish in possibly his last olympics to reply to him live on air that we win together and lose together.
  • At least three boxing medals to be won for Britain today - James DeGale fights at 0800, Tony Jeffries fights at 1401, David Price fights at 1446 all are fighting for at least a bronze and go to the Gold/silver round if they win. Plus Tim Brabants kayaks for gold shortly...
