Up until you said that Ashtray, I was shaking my head in disagreement but you have a point.
At very least the camera's in the helicoptor's should have been switched off at that point of the race, maybe the race should have been stopped?
But I also I agree with others, these horses are bred to race and jump.
If these horses didnt want to run when the jockey fell off, why do they keep running and even keep jumping the fences. I watched a race earlier in the week where the horses were being gathered at the start and off they went, bar one. It dug its front legs in and refused to race. It point blankly refused to take part. These horses must weigh a ton plus, if they dont want to do something my guess is, a ten stone bloke on his back with a bit of stick aint going make him.
And also, your reputation as WUM goes before you. ; )
And there is also a Donkey sanctuary at the farm on Shootershill to donate your winnings too, there is also one at Sparrows Lane ; )
Or perhaps you would like to donate you winnings as I did to the German Shepherd Rescue funds bar 20 quid for CADSA , because I remember you seem to have an opinion on me buying Bailey from a breeder rather than getting a rescue.

Otherwise I thiink you may be applying human logic to horses. We can't be sure of what they want and why ultimately they run. What we do know however is that they repeatedly die in the name of 'sport' and entertainment whilst the bookies get rich. In my view this makes it a blood sport and I regret deviating from my abstention of the past years.

Regarding your dog; I stand by my comments. That said, I'm sure you give Bailey a great life, despite giving him an awful name - which arguably warrants a call to the RSPCA
