Beats me why people on here would want to take it away from him when everyone else is giving it to him and nobody bloody cares. Strange. Still, nothing else to moan or get worked up about about I guess.

Got back around 11.15pm, dropped off by my mates on their way back to London (got kicked off the M1 at J19 cos they decided to close the motorway for roadworks! Had to go the backwater route through Northants to where I live).

Top performance by Charlton, good all over the pitch, Solly quality, he created the first goal with his persistence to win the ball back and then switching to attack and laying the ball off for Green. BWP's turn for the second goal was class but unfortunately, the fourth goal was o.g I'm afraid...I've not seen it on TV yet but I presume the tv camera angle was behind BWP, but from where we were sat (the defenders side), you could clearly see that the defender put it in. Anyway, +4 added to the goal difference, 3 more points, very happy indeed!

Went to the game expecting victory and was not disappointed.

CP started with his first choice X1. For those not there and wondering what the performance was like, think early season. Stephens has played his way back to his top form. Great performance.

Charlton were the better of the two teams in the first half and the goal was deserved. In the second half, we battered Chesterfield. It is an irrelevance that BWP second goal was offside and one of the other goals was an own goal, Charlton were all over Chesterfield and could have scored other goals.

The back 5 would not have conceded if the game had been played all night. Solly in particular was quality and Hamer's distribution was superb. Morrison, Taylor and Wiggins all played well.

BWP worked hard and deserved his 2 goals. We've got our Bradley back. Green had some nice passages of play. Rest of the midfield great and good to see JJ celebrate with the fans. Things didn't seem to fall quite right for Kermorgant but he still put in a decent shift. Clarke came on and showed signs of why CP signed him.

    Enjoyed the game.

    Good vocal support.

We are going up and we are going up as Champions.

    Happy days.
    Thanks for the report SF.

Great result. Felt on Saturday that we were starting to re-discover our early form so a pleasing result, if not a shock. Proud doesn't begin to express how I feel to be a charlton supporter this season.

Huddersfield have just signed Tony Hart and Rolf Harris as they are now officially draw specialists................................

Another great result after Saturday. Looks like the blip is well and truly over. I listened to the commentrary on Radio London. They said there were lots of Premiership scouts at the game and suggested they were looking at Hamer, BWP and Kermo. Hope none of our players get tempted by the prospect of playing for a Premiership reserve team.

Have not felt this happy about Charlton FC for a very long time.

We our in dream land. Top of the league after years of hurt, could this be the season? With a Charlton legend in charge?

What dreams are made of right.....?

Just got home.(1.10am) Was having a good run when somehow messed up a diversion on M1 as a junction was closed. Went round in a big circle for over 30 mins.
Anyway most enjoyable evening, nice little modest 4th Div ground. Very friendly lot who my son and I bumped into before and after, apart from one bloke who pushed pass my lad and called him a cockney something and offered to stab him, whilst holding his 5(ish) year olds hand!
Really enjoyed the match, never known one go so quickly. We were right behind the goal and I didn't even consider an og for BWP's 3rd but my son and the bloke in front did. There you go.
Nice pie at half time. Very impressed with the numbers there for a Tuesday, 600/700 at a guess. Some good singing and as far as I know nothing controversial, no sit down/stand up issues, no racist comments or songs, no Adams family song and very little moaning.
Parked over the road for a fiver and getting away was no prob. Only thing the ground lacked was any old fashioned type burger vans outside and no independant merchandise sellers, my son always likes to get a badge or similar as a momento, just the club shop which was full of typical modern crap. i-phone covers! I ask you!!!!???

    "Winnie" made me laugh!

Just got back after dropping the bruv off in Coventry. Just wanted to say before I pass out, Green and Solly were magnificent. Must mention what a nice little ground they have. Beer before the game and a Jackson's Chicken Balti Pie ( Only bought it cos I thought it might be a good omen and hey presto! ). Will post more tomorrow and a couple of pics from the ga...zzzzzzzzzzz............

I thought the stewards were crap, they threatened to chuck me out for hanging my feet over the seat in front. I did however get a free pie when leaving after the game.

Well worth the aborted trip and money lost a few weeks ago.

Chirpy - we also fucked up the same diversion (junction 19), which put us back 30mins. I blame the shite diversion.
Then got diverted on the M25 too, had to drop off in Essex and finally walked in the door in Maidstone at 2.15am.

    Well worth it though ;)

Just watched the goals on SSN and a Chris Powell interview afterwards. I just wanted to jump into the screen, grab him and stick a massive smacker right on his lips!

Who cares who scored? BWP has broken his bad run and we're flying again!

Now, to try and get to the away game that see's us up....

well worth the grovelling to desert the troups and drive up there , easy drive for us new ground day trippers ,2.5hrs on the way home, with a drop off in northampton, with the M1 diversion and no eastbound on to the M25 from the M1, decent numbers (for us, hudders took the same to stevenage) although it didn't look it but this team deserve more (i wont be happpy till they're all sell outs, if it doesn't happen this season it never will)... decent atmosphere as you'd expect as we are walking the league

the tone was set in the first couple of minutes when chesterfields big man out wide tried to shield the ball from solly and he was right up his arris not giving him an inch and you could see the life drop out of the attacker as he knew this was gonna be hard work
early doors hamer caught one 12 yards out and made his mark that the box was his
first half chesterfield had a couple of snap shots but we were pretty much in control and when we scored with the aid of the crossbar there was a slight delayed reaction as the players hardly celebrated
every 50/50 decision went our way from the refs and linos and as the goals flew in you knew you were watching this seasons champions
solly was different gravy tonight and was proper in their face and my MOTM for his sheer effort and tenacity
BWP he scores when he wants
Only downer (am i allowed one) leon clarke is kakpo just awful

anyway the ONE AIM is done
    CHAMPIONS 100% until otherwise changed

We certainly had the rub of the green but then the bigger better clubs usually do don't they?

Magnificent gritty performance by Solly last night, his shear determination to keep going set up a couple of the goals and his defending was brilliant. Hamer looked confident throughout and his good distribution was always met with some great flick ons and headers. Bradley worked hard , often switched down the wings and got three goals, what more could you ask for. The most impressive thing was that 80 minutes in, four nil up, 12 points clear we were still fighting for every ball and looked determined to keep a clean sheet.

Loved when Hamer did what I've been waiting to see for ages.... directed his goal kick to the left while everyone bar 1 was on the right side of the field.

    Indeed.

Strange how things like that can impress even as much as a goal.

His kicking is arguably the best of any CAFC keeper I've ever seen.

Agree with everything you said there.

They looked OK for a while but were so short of confidence and when we scored we were all over them.

Fantastic 2nd half performance from all the team.

Nice stadium and well worth the trip up there despite 20 million traffic cones on the M25 and M1. Invest in traffic cones there is a huge market for them.

I can't comment on the actual game as I listened on Player. However I will make the point that with 20 minutes to go CP was able to substitute two of his best players (Morri and Big Yann) and then 8 minutes later take off the captain and still keep a clean sheet and provide some attacking options. - awesome

It has mostly all been said but the Ben Hamer 50 yard pass to Clarke near the end was top drawer. Hamer never humps it aimlessly. Massively underrated by many of our fans.

Great to hear much of the fans' back catalogue. Only one missing was La La La Barry Endean?

Summed up why I love away games this season.

Can someone please tell me what game will see us promoted? Would just like to know. Thanks.

    Im wondering that too

Someone else has suggested this link before.

We can only now finish 19th or higher.
It is worth checking after each game.
I don't think it takes account of teams playing each other though?

    Now on the OS:

''Bradley Wright-Phillips is claiming a first career hat-trick after Tuesday night's 4-0 romp at Chesterfield, according to Chris Powell.''

Hope that's an end to it. Four goals in four days. Well done, Bradley.
