Not too sure he'd want to come back. He seemed to feel hurt by the reaction of the fans to his Chelsea move. Last rumour I heard, he was happy Spurs sent us down. Mind you, if he did come back, let bygones be bygones. He's a class act on the pitch.
What hurt that HE ripped the heart out the best team we had had for 60 years? Don't want the plank back.
He seemed hurt by the reaction of fans? What did he expect?! He behaved very poorly to get his move to Chelsea. He can poke off and count his money as far as I'm concerned.
He was hurt? Like f*ck he was. He was coining it and that's all that mattered to him. There is no chance, IMO, of us signing Parker. That would be totally contrary to RDs strategic approach.
We got 10m and he got his big payday. A bit like the Poyet situation but we actually got to choose what we sold him for. I know that at the time it screwed us over but there were far more factors than just him leaving that got us into the downward spiral.
I dont think the return move will happen, but if it does a midfield 3 with him holding, cousins/buyens carrying and Jacko/Moussa in behind looks decent for this division.
I can't forgive the spotty bstd, mercenary maggot, screwed us over at a time when we were actually able to push on
We may have got ten mil but he was worth double or treble that too our team
We loved that cnut proper idolised by every single fan in the ground and he shit on us big time
He could've waited he could've seen the season out but the greedy wanka left for a place on the bench
Fuk Scott parker and all that comes with him
Heard he was getting the kicking he deserved at the weekend from five Charlton fans who'd just got back on holiday from Greece when some wally broke it all up.
if i was offered what parker was, I wouldn't even hesitate, think you all got to remember he isn't a charlton fan, he was a employee, who took a move to a big and better club,
when you guys join a company and i suspect your good at your job, do you think about how leaving your current job will affect them.. of course not, works the same with footballers
I don't get the Parker hatred, yes it was very disappointing when he left, but we got an enormous fee for him, when you look at the joke fee we'll get for Poyet. The sale of Shelvey was far worse, we sold him before the end of the season, at a time when we could still have got promotion from L1. It was obvious Parker was going to leave in January, we had all month to buy a replacement but we didn't, that was the waste.
I doubt very much Parker was hurt by the reaction. He applauded the fans after being booed for 90 mins playing for Newcastle.
Yes, we got £10m for him, but on the very last day of the transfer window, against our wishes. He went on strike, remember? And scuppered what would have been an historic season. And if you doubt that, remember we came 7th with Matty Holland replacing Parker. With Parker, can there be any doubt we'd've made Europe for the first time? He screwed our season to spend the rest of it in Chelsea's reserves.
Shelvey wasn't even in the first team when he left, for reasons unknown. I know he loves the club, but Charlton reserves over Liverpool?
Having ranted, I would take Parker back in a heartbeat, only on the basis that he is still a superb player. Won't happen though, not with what he's been earning for the last decade,
From what I remember, the amount Chelsea and Charlton agreed on was £10m, plus an additional one-year loan of Carlton Cole. But Parker had a 10% fee in his contract, which was triggered if Charlton sold him without him asking to go on the transfer list. And, as he hadn't formally requested a transfer (he'd merely thrown his toys out of the pram and unofficially demanded it), as the deal was going through, he demanded his 10%, ie £1m. Charlton (quite rightfully) refused to pay it, so Chelsea added a million to the fee.
Then, as Carlton Cole refused to come back to Charlton to complete his loan, Charlton went back to Chelsea and demanded compensation, which they got, to the tune of another £1m.

The only difference is that Parker was central to the team and Shelvey (who should have been) was deemed 'too good' to be in our first XI by Parkinson.

'Too good to risk getting injured and losing out on a transfer fee as we don't have a pot to piss in'
Couple of sources in France stating Bahebeck likely to be on his way soon as PSG have Di Maria in the bag
One seems close to the club and thinks it likely There is even an article entitled why Bahebeck must leave PSG (I think it's more about the level of players ahead of him.
Though I saw one thing online that stated they wanted €25m for him and would replace him with someone worth €5m.
I think there is an article stating they rejected our offer of €2.25m. Would be gutted if he goes somewhere for €3m and we just wouldn't stump up that little extra.

I would be mightily impressed (and surprised) if we signed Bahebeck for 3 mill. There must be other clubs with a higher profile than Charlton who would be eager for his signature.

If he tears up the championship he'd be worth triple that. Would be a real statement of intent from Roland and big bob.
As for Parker I wouldn't mind either way. As an 11 year old who played in central midfield for my school/club I absolutely idolised Scotty and I've never been as gutted or as angry when he left. It made me lose interest in the game for a couple of years as I was a lot better and interested in the more "loyal" game of cricket.
If he was to finish his career here it would be nice and I believe he could still do a job, almost being a technically better andy Hughes role. It would also add to the philosophy of playing "local lads" peeters has talked about.
Hope we do get Bahebeck.. Think we definitely have enough strength on the two wings with Harriot/Moussa/Jackson on the left and Wilson/Gudmondsson on the right, but on Wiki it says he began his career as a striker and has regularly been a consistent goalscorer.. Would be a versatile player to strengthen the forward line.
Dislike him but just a young lad chasing a dream, not like he done something cruel. Think the saddest part is that he ruined his own career in a way. I know he's rolling in it probably but he doesn't carry the reputation he could have had.
I doubt he'll join but if he did and got us promoted then all would be forgiven.
I'd like to see Reza gone (looked good in the World Cup but very average for us) and then we snap Darius Henderson up! Can be very good on his day and it appears Orient are after him, think he'd could do a job in this league.
What happened to the Eidur Gudjonnson rumour which surfaced a couple of weeks ago ? Could he play a Di Canio / Fuller type role for us ? Peeters signed him previously.
I think he is out of contract with Club Bruges and certainly wasn't listed in their team for the opening weekend.

Anyway, I don't want the scummy little turd back at the club.

It's all I keep seeing and it's just annoying. It's worse than YOLO, LOL, LMAO and all that other crap that the yoof of today keep spouting.
*cue some hilarious soul telling me to move on - well you are not funny so don't even bother*

If the fee we expected doesn't now materialise then there could be a hole in the budget.
Still think he'll be off.
Oh, two signings coming pretty soon :-) One will be our number 8 and the other very close to that number...
Third is wanted I believe too, but I only know of these 2..
