Wales v Fiji .. a real game, terrific entertainment .. 2 sides giving it large, hammer and tongs .. hats off to both teams .. the referee was over strict on Fiji in the England game .. if the Fijians had played like they did today last Friday week, England could have lost ...BUT .. what referee would have dared to 'let' England lose in the first game of the tournament ... Saturday's game is going to be a real humdinger .. a LOT depends on the referee and if England's boring attritional game can overcome Australian flair and especially the fact that Australia after so many years going backwards in set play, have found a pack that can hold its own in the set scrum and line-out .. we will see
Not the worst result in the world, Wales not getting that bonus point is big.
England beat Australia Australia beat Wales England beat Uruguay
and England will still finish top of Group A. :-)
If England beat Australia, then assuming we beat Uruguay with a bonus point win, then assuming no bonus point win, it won't matter who wins between Australia and Wales as we should be above Wales?
Assuming England beat Australia narrowly and get the bonus point win against Uruguay, which should be a formality, then that would leave England with 15 points
Wales have 13, and Australia would then have 10
Thus only a win will send Australia through, but they will still be behind England on head to heads However, if Australia and Wales both get 4 tries, and Australia win narrowly, then all 3 countries would then have 15 points. No idea what happens then :-)
England will beat Australia, the next day Charlton will beat Fulham, then on Monday we'll announce 3 quality loan signings to fill the gaps in our squad

It's a worry that tonight's referee is another Frenchman .. in my opinion, South Africans as a rule are by far the best referees .. strict without being over-officious and fussy and prepared to let the game flow .. we will see

In this case we would have won the group thanks to our bonus point against Fiji.
After points totals, H2H records are the tie breaker.
