Love how Labour are still considered the party of the working class! I've worked hard and saved hard all my life, but always go backwards under Labour governments, yet prosper under conservatives. So Tory all day for me. Also, I'd like to see a break down based on age, on the assumption that " if you're not a socialist at 20, you haven't got a heart. If you're still a socialist at 50, you haven't got a brain".
Some people don't only worry about themselves though QA. I was a Tory at 20 and at 50, after watching and learning, I'm very much a socialist ( so much so, I consider the Labour Party "Tory light" ) though I would probably be better off personally under the Tories.
I consider not only what's best for myself and my family, but also the nation. A bankrupt nation, drowning in a sea of debt, cannot support the needy who are unable to support themselves. A strong economy benefits everyone and the givers need to be supported as much as the takers in order to produce a strong economy.
THIS.
There seems a constant need to vilify those that give the most into the economy and an element of "punishing those rich bastards" from some of the left.
As with everything there needs to be a balance but the point above is entirely correct - a strong economy will benefit everyone and I can't see how solely looking after those less fortunate would give a strong economy. That's why encouraging people and offering opportunity to go to work and contribute to said economy should be the priority. I am not saying that's what is happening at present but we should be looking at how to help people maximise their potential rather than bumping up the welfare bill (which should be primarily there for people who physically cannot work) and giving more power to people such as the RMT who who hold London to ransom a couple of times a year and actually prevent economic growth through causing the capital to ground to a halt.
And it never will, ever.
There seems to be a constant need to think that at some point the Tories will give a shit about anyone but their very rich friends and an element of "maybe I will get some of the drippings from their nose" from some of the right.

I thought this was poll page for who you are going to vote for. Shouldn't the ranting and comments be on the election thread ?
Fair point. Sorry about that.
Its ok, it is very easy to get carried away where these things are concerned.
You may have posted this earlier in thread, but what was your voting intention @DamonNorthStand ?
Probably conservative, I work hard and even at times of no work I've got off my backside and done something about it never touching the benefit system, I would like to vote UKIP but I can't see it making a difference so would sooner vote Tories to stop labour
