Last night at work I saw a dog that was bleeding internally. If it was a splenic tumour we would’ve done the surgery there and then but unfortunately the tumour was interconnected between liver and spleen and required referral. The only place that would accept it overnight was the RVC in potters bar. Instead of getting quickly up the m25 the owners had to drive with all the traffic up through blackwall, m11 etc. if an extra 30minutes of journey time, 30minutes more of blood lost has caused this dog to not make it…

I wonder if the operators of the Dratford crossing have a case against these two protesters to bring private action for loss of revenue. They won't be able to pay but being made bankrupt would be a real pain to them.

We use specialist booms all the time, I’m qualified to operate anything up to 175ft it wouldn’t be higher than that and they are lorry mounted and I know of 4 crane companies that would offer them same day.

Not a nice story but I can't help thinking that if anyone really cared about the welfare of cats and dogs (or children for that matter) they might consider driving less often - or at least go a bit slower in built up or rural areas.

I have been held up for hours on the A2 by random road works on countless occasions ( including en-route to Darent Valley hospital to see loved ones) and there is rarely any visible sign of any activity. Recently the A2 was shut completely by some "moron" during the the London Marathon and the rail strike week-end.
I don't remember anyone calling for the head of the Highways Agency to be shot on site or for fireworks and pyrotechnics to be fired at him while he/she was mowing the lawn.
And if you start claiming (even in jest) that anyone who undertakes peaceful direct action for a political cause is a terrorist, then we are all in big trouble.
They don't have to be shot at the scene. They can be taken to a more discreet location if need be.
