Am I right in thinking that if we don't turn up for a fixture then the match is awarded 3 - 0 to the opposition ?
Sounds like a plan.
The better plan is to invade the pitch and force an abandonment early in a match where the points are crucial to the opposition. If the opposition are awarded a 3-0 win, then their rivals will kick up a stink because of some kind of advantage being handed out. Saturday March 12th might be a good one (and it will keep the score down), if the club is fined or docked points will it make any difference, I doubt it.
Had a jam with my Charlton-supporting mate and wrote a song instead of following the coverage. Didn't think there was any point.
It's all shit.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEE HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEE (for tomorrow but still we always have shit results around Jan 17th - Watford last year is an example)
Happy birthday for tomorrow mate. Still haven't got you a present though!
As far as I'm concerned, I'd have the Spivs back tomorrow rather than the current regime.
I can (just about) take having the team perform poorly because no-one has the money to improve the squad. And I can deal with losing/relegation on the same basis...
However, I really cannot be doing with someone profiting from the club (assuming Roland's investments at 3% are honoured by any new owners) and having more than enough to rescue a situation, but treating us with the utter contempt that Duchatelet does.
His "statement" during the week is another example if us playing us for fools. He thinks he's so much smarter and better than us, and the worst of it is that there are good people, fans like us, who believe that he saved our club. He didn't, unless you believe Harold Shipman saved his victims from death from old age.
He's a complete f****r, and we need to get rid of him now....
It's sad how watching those highlights doesn't stir any emotion in me. First two away games I've missed all season this week and don't really have any intention to go again. Will be asking for a refund on my Rotherham tickets this Saturday. Never thought I'd say it but have found there are much better ways to spend my Saturday than watching Charlton.
Positives: it was nice to find a half decent red wine in a ground. My dad said his pie was nice and it was good to have a chat with @RedChaser too. Also. This was so different to the resignation on Tuesday. Today amongst our away support, the anger was there and we let them know how we felt. Negatives. Well the entire performance again. We matched them for five minutes then went to pieces. No wonder Hendo didn't want to come out second half. Credit to the players for coming over at the end although vaz te had to be told to do it as was skulking off again. I have no idea where this broken team go from here. But I do know we will best this god awful regime.
it's all been written above .. my turn((:>) .. effort can't be faulted in my eyes, except for one or two and I will not name them, just hope they'll be fucked off a s a p .. fact is we were outclassed all over the pitch .. our players are mostly second rate or too inexperienced, basic errors gave away five of the eleven we've shipped in the past week, the rest were down to lack of talent in Addicks shirts ... The H's Hudd and Hull ripped us apart .. I can accept it today (just) as Hull are a class side packed with internationals and established premier quality players but Huddersfield, a similar sized club to us ?.. I am a bit stuck for words here .. we'll just have to see what transpires against Blackburn and Rotherham to see if the Riga effect is working ....
Riga was briefly interviewed on 5Live .. briefly .. for a while, we now have one game a week rather than two a week, this will give him time to assess the players and to get them organised .. let's hope he can do it .. SOON
Four goals from outside the box. Does that suggest we need a new keeper?
Hendo was one of the few players that shouldn't be ashamed of themselves.Would have been 8-0 but for two class saves.
Got to add, great away support. Didn't stop singing and had everyone laughing. No mean feat 6-0 down in temperatures of 2C. Hope those talking of a boycott make up the numbers of our dismal away support. Support the team not the regime.
Well where do I start with that? I know let's take the positive out of it I've seen a goal approximately every 17 mins averaged over the last two games at £3 per goal (seniors ticket prices). On the downside they all went into our net and Henderson must have severe back ache having had to pick the ball out of his onion bag so regularly this week.
Once again we had enough experience on the pitch to put up some sort of resistance with almost as strong a side as Riga could muster from those available to him. We started with purpose and a little spring in our step with Igor showing more effort in the first 5 mins than some showed during Tuesdays hammering.
I thought the experienced new CB pairing of Johnson and Williams would be the bedrock of a solid away performance. Oh how wrong I was when the latter had his pocket picked on the halfway line by Hernandez who bore down on goal and slotted home after 8 mins. Johnson gave him a consoling pat but you could see any feel good factor Riga May have given them in his pre match chat drain away in floods.
It wasn't long before the 2nd and 3rd goals, good shots with swerve mind but not enough pressure on the opponents, beat Henderson all ends up. The 4th goal was a cut back from inside the 18yd area and no surprise that their player was the first to react. Had it been a boxing match the towel would have been thrown in to save us further punishment but we went off half time totally outplayed to the safety of the dressing room for some much needed soul searching because the game was over.
Second half we kept trying but the difference in class was there for all to see. Williams who was just not up to the pace of the game was eventually subbed with Fox going to left back and Lennon CB. Umerah came on for Igor and didn't look ready at this level. Vaz Te wasn't on long enough to create an impression and came on for Poyet. JBG was a bit better but really has lost his mojo. Two more goals were conceded just to make sure we had been hit for six one of which was a deflection which summed the day up.
Those that travelled deserve a special mention for not only proudly singing VFR and many others to show our allegiance to CAFC but to show their displeasure at the hierarchy with 'Roland Out', 'Stand Up if you want them out' and 'We want our Charlton back' several times throughout the game.
Where we go from here heaven only knows and boy do we need some divine intervention right now.
My God, those two clowns at centre half don't get anywhere near Hull's players at any point. I'd rather have Naby Sarr. Actually, I'd rather clone him and have two Naby Sarr's than those two absolute jokers. Send Williams back now. Beyond that we'll have to hope Johnson turns up to training pissed again so we can sack him. 18 month contract? Jesus. If Bauer's going to be out for a while we need two new centre halves and neither of them should be Williams or Johnson. But of course when we go down and the inquest starts again we'll be told 'but we brought in two Championship centre halves like you wanted'. Sometimes I swear they're doing this shit on purpose.
Middlesboro taking the piss out of us giving us that useless Williams. Should never be able to put on a Charlton shirt again. McAleny and Williams must be the two worst loans ever. Seen better players on a Sunday morning at Blackheath! Send him back ASAP.

Boro are just using us to get him some matches. Players only loan to other clubs if there is a benefit in it for the parent club, whether it be to cut some cash off the wage bill, get them some experience, or in Williams' case, so we can get him fit for them. I bet he'll get fit with us and then go back to Boro and start performing (if he doesn't get injured again in the meantime).
Hardly a reaction when the scores were coming in on Sky Sports News. Bit like Fr. Stone off Fr. Ted. That's how bad it is. I was at the game on Tuesday but ducked out of today. Don't know if I can face Rotherham. I'll get counselling first.
Henderson doesn't look at fault for any of those. Williams, Johnson and Lennon on the other hand.....Hendo is the least if our problems.
I cannot believe the ineptitude of that defending. Williams looks like a carthorse. No surprise given the amount of games he has played in the last two years. Pointless loan, send him back.
If Diarra and Bauer aren't going to be back anytime soon then our goal difference is going to be horrific by the end of the season.
The body language as those goals go in is horrendous. Johnson looks like he doesn't care and unfortunately the same can be aaid of Solly.
Looking forward to Northampton and Oxford away next season
The Cobblers will rip the Addicks an enormous new hole. I have been to a few games at Sixfields recently and they remind me of early Curbishley era Charlton. They win ugly, they work as a team, they have humility - there are no stars.

I really can't be arsed to comment on that!! However, a couple of 'comedy' quote moments helped relieve some of the pain. Went down for some steak and ale pie action after their 3rd goal to witness a fella at the food kiosk say:
"My team are losing 3-0 and you want f*****g £2.30 for a bottle of water" (then the 4th went in).
Second quote heard after leaving the ground, with one Hull fan saying to another:
"They weren't as bad as Cardiff"!!!
Priceless and hallelujah!! There's a team that's more comical than us in the league!!

What did you have to say on the radio fella?
You've lost me!
Thought someone said you phoned in. Must have misunderstood.
An idea for strategy. If you're going to the home matches anyway, get there early and demonstrate in the car park. Go into the ground for the first half and demonstrate there too (banners, songs, turning backs to the pitch etc). Leave at half-time and demonstrate in the car park until an hour after the final whistle/inevitable defeat. If something like this were organised, it would surely garner press coverage, and if kept peaceful any coverage will hopefully be positive for the fans.

It comes to something when you cheer yourself up by going to watch The Revenant. Fucking hell.

Incidentally, where was THD today? Playing Lennon at LB today initially was a major surprise
Are they on suicide watch?
