Well, I hope the baseball comes off, if for no other reason than it will be a bit less money that we taxpayers will have to find. Because we are projecting annual operating losses of £5m-9m after the naming rights and seating fiascos. And someone has to fund those losses.
The new BBC programme on it is now in the can, slated for late Jan, with time for some last minute updates....after their bruising fight with the LLDC over that last programme they are in no mood to take prisoners.
Yeah I mean people who like different things, what the fuck is all that about?
I don't like american sports trying to move in to other 'markets'. That's all really.
Derby's Baseball ground does how that baseball was once big over here as well. Indeed, wasn't baseball invented here?
But it didn"t establish itself as an English/British sport though did it? And it is an American version of rounders that was exported back to us (unsuccessfully) in the early parts if the 20th century.

How do you feel about the Nippon League that's been going since 1950?
Or the many professional Ice Hockey leagues and Basketball leagues throughout Europe?
Indifferent. I don't care about Japanese sport, that's up to them.
I really am mega indifferent to ice hockey. It 'll never be anything other than inconsequential here. I say this as someone who used to go to the Wembley Lions and the Streatham Redskins. But saw the light. :-).

I agree with you. Don't like it at all myself but the fact is there is a growing market for it and the loss to the taxpayer stadium might as well try and make some money from events like this rather than allowing other private owned stadiums to rake in the profit...
Hope they get relegatted.....tonight was £1 a kid & £15 adult.....then again I pay my taxes to fund them.....i should have a choice if my £58 per year for the next 30 years which has been added to my Council Tax should go to WHU or my local hospital or school

Maybe what you meant to say was: Merry Christmas.
They have the whole summer to try and use the stadium, hopefully there will be T20 cricket in 2018 as well

But you're wonderful. If I could have your child I would.
