The team lost to Arsenal on a Saturday and the manager told the players they had to be in at 9am the next morning(obviously they usually get Sundays off), one of the players was hosting a party that night and the next day turned up 20 minutes late wearing a dressing gown.

I've still got it all recorded - an hour and a half's worth. Truth is, it's too sad to listen back to that often...much as I love the sound of his voice.
I lost all interest in the RD experiment the day they sacked Powell - and was struggling with it almost from day one. I have never had an ounce of the enthusiasm I had for CAFC before this & nothing they do will ever win me back - they need to go.
The last time I had a glimmer of passion was the chance Harriot scuffed past the post up at Brammal Lane before the wheels fell off.
Not so much to do with Powell - I know he had his limitations but just the shabby underhand way they treated the man & the way they had a Network stooge in Riga ready to slide into place once Powell was gone.

Yes, was a bit surprised by the reaction last night as he didn't really say anything new.
As always with SCP, it's the way he says it; you buy into absolutely everything he says and it shines through his love for our club and us as supporters. No one in football has ever really done that before with such meaning.
Wouldn't want Powell back as manager at all but brilliant interview from a club legend, let's leave him as that.
I hope this thread doesn't turn into a the merits or otherwise of Powell having been sacked or whether he should come back. As AFKA says nothing revealing from what many of us already knew and what was reported in the Trust news a while ago. However it is a timely reminder to the media and all the naysayers of what this crazy megalomaniac owner is all about and the path to destruction he has sent this club hurtling along since he arrived on the scene. Two years on and it's déjà vue except we are in a worse position!
I think the difference here is that it would have been picked up by a wider audience. It will only add to the existing ill feeling amongst not only our fans but other general football fans and the media. Hopefully the media coverage thread is very active in the coming days with positive reaction for the cause as a direct result of some of Powells comments.

Regardless what you think of his managerial ability (I personally think he's a good manager at the right club) you cannot doubt his professionalism and his love of CAFC and football in general.
Give me 11 Powell's on the pitch and one in the dug out any day of the week and twice on Sunday's compared to the last two years. We might not win the premier league but we'd be a solid side, hard to beat and wouldn't be battling relegation from The Championship.
I cant begin to think Duchataletet would be able to offer any opinion on the suitabiity or otherwise of our players - so someone was watching & advising at the time of the takeover. I heavily suspect Fraeye was involved & Riga as well who was i believe not coaching at the time.
No evidence for this - but i have a feeling Riga's roots run very deep in relation to our problems under this regime.
Totally agree Oakster. It's all smoke and mirrors when it comes to Riga. Sorry, but I have always thought that he's one of 'them' and he always will be.
He ain't the best manager in the world but fucking hell, what a human being Chris Powell is.
He proved when bankrolled and the freedom to pick his staff and players he can walk a league. Albeit league one it still took some doing and there are plenty of other managers given war chests who can't.
I seriously think had cash not pulled the funding that jiminez and slater would have backed him in the transfer market and we'd be in the premiership now travelling up to Leicester rather than Rotherham tomorrow.
He's had one season of proprer funding and came up trumps. Wouldn't want him back under these muppets as he's too good for them.
loved listening to it last night but it really annoys me, I honestly think if the spivs had not of run out of money Powell would have taken us places, we had such a good feeling around the place and with a couple of signings like who was being mentioned it would of really been a top 6 challenger I am sure.
