I suspect it's a number of factors, including a lack of planning, uncertainty about the budget and reputational issues. Primarily, however, it is likely to be Roland's reluctance to pay the 'going rate' for English players, both in terms of transfer fees (where applicable) and wages.4

Well something is wrong with the recruitment process but weren't we led to believe that when we signed Novak that we were willing to pay more wages than Millwall and a couple of other clubs ?Blucher said:I suspect it's a number of factors, including a lack of planning, uncertainty about the budget and reputational issues. Slade: Hang on that's not what you said when I agreed to come here!Clem_Snide said:Oh to be a fly on Russell's shoulder!

Anyone have the feeling Slade is playing some brinkmanship here? No factual basis for this but I get the impression he has his targets, KM has refused them and is trying to get him to sign a load of crap/network players and he's having none of it. If so is a dangerous game to play but if it works would no doubt end up being in a lot stronger position.2

I'm sorry Russy baby,I might've told you a couple of porkies.....Clem_Snide said:Oh to be a fly on Russell's shoulder!

Who knows but, whilst we got those three early signings over the line, Roland's appetite to go any further seems to have significantly diminished. At present, it looks very much like he is reverting to his habitual 'sticking plaster' approach.
Perhaps he is waiting for any sales of Lookman and Tex before reassessing the position.0 -
Maybe somebody (Wilder/ Belgian Laptop Jockeys/other) had convinced them that the 3 forwards were all that was required.ShootersHillGuru said:

Now Slade is trying to make them face up to the new reality?

waiting for Texeira to be sold to raise the funds or maybe he thought better of it having seen the aged midfield that he will be playing behindValley11 said:

Slade: 'Look, I'm only telling you what he said. Pearcey said "I don't like her gaffer. She looks like a squirrel. I don't like squirrels gaffer. They scare me". Straight up. That's what he said. He's in the car park now. Won't get out of his Aston until you've left the ground.'Clem_Snide said:Oh to be a fly on Russell's shoulder!

Rudd isn't in Norwich squad today for their friendly.0
-
Govern on Subs Bench.0
-
So no Rudd / Thompson or Pearce in their respective squads today.
Ffs just get them in. Those three would significantly improve us.7 -
Those three plus another striker (Simpson) and a creative midfielder. Yes, that would be better.DamoNorthStand said:So no Rudd / Thompson or Pearce in their respective squads today.

Also need Bauer fit to sit alonside Pearce asap. Novak - get a cast on him and get him on the pitch at Bury too.1

I should know this but have we signed Foley, or is he still on trial?0

Can't see many more, if any coming in. I reckon those early signings were hoodwinked, much like JBG was. Top 6 budget, aiming for promotion blah, blah.
Seriously, who would want to join this shambles?2 -
Today's team looks like a U21 team. Truly shocking with one week to go.0

Anyone recognise the bloke Katrien is talking to? Someone on Twitter said that a man in a club uniform reckons that she thinks we already have enough players.0

Foley will hopefully sign. Moving well today.1
-
If Meire thinks we already have enough players, not only is she deluded, but she can expect Slade to walk before the Bury game.0

She was talking to a bald bloke in the board room who looked like clem from the the football league tv show!0 -
Slade and I'm guessing Nolan were fuming towards the end of the half. Ajose and Lookman look pretty miserable too.0
