no lessons have been learned---none !! its classic deflection tactic--they are still running us into the ground.

the cult still believes in the pan Euro Trash idea---the cult still dosnt understand you need squad depth and quality, not just any old twat--the cult still wants ALL the old fans OUT---the cult still believe that they will show the none believers in the end--the Cult dont care how far we fall as their plan is right---the Cult still see RD as the chosen one and Katy is teflon.

target Tony he has fronted up he is a man --ish---get her isolated

  • The fact they have gone all British shows off their ineptitude even more and that they havent got a clue.

Like a petulant school child - "Oh the fans dont want us solely reliant on the foreign network - well have 100pc British then".

We arent the fecking BNP - we need a team to compete in league 1, and whilst that will have a fair share of UK talent, the emphasis is best team for the job (that squad should include Bauer, Tex, Kashi, Diarra etc - mixed with your Novaks, Ajoses, Rudds etc).

Its not one or the other.

You are right, it has got so wrapped up in foreign/British debate that we have sacrificed quality. I am sure i speak for everyone in saying i would not give two f*cks if our entire squad was foreign but of enough quality to win the league.

RUMOUR OF A PLAYER INCOMING TODAY UNLIKELY

    That's right that's a rumour about a rumour.
  • Does anyone actually think that Ceballos was part of Slades plans ? Of course not. He would be eaten alive in league one.

My guess is that Slade has said something like "if we can move him on I don't really mind" STTV is an easy and obvious move to get done especially on a loan.

Yes we need bodies in desperately but I think having Ceballos hanging around would have contributed very little to the cause.

Don't get the hate for bringing in loans. Assuming they are good enough (I know big assumption) and can play in the positions we need, what's the problem? Many clubs (even us in the past) have benefited from use of the loan system. Don't understand the hate for it.

I guess people want us to use the loan system rather than rely on it.

There's just a complete lack of future planning. Even if we get three or four great loans in, we'll be in exactly the same position this time next year.

Not many PL sides will loan to a team in League 2

The frustration for me is not that we should have kept him, it's that he added nothing to the cause in the first place - like so many others - and has now been shipped out for nothing - like so many others.

What is the point of it all? Ceballos, Moussa, Parsyczek, Tucudean, Sarr, even Igor - signed, not up to it, then just given away. Waste of everyone's time and money.

It is also that we have haemorrhaged players since relegation (of all standards) and have not taken on enough to be a competitive squad.

We really are appalling at buying and selling players.

    Dreadful.

    I mean totally shit.

Igor was definitely up to it, unfortunately he got a nasty injury and was rushed back every time only causing more damage.

If we take away the U21 players, have we sufficient senior professionals to make a matchday squad of 18?

I don't think we do Oggs.

Last year, at one point, we could put out a team that read
    Henderson
    Motta Fanni Teixeira Suk-Young
    Gudmundsson Diarra Ba Bergdich
    Sanogo Makienok

    Now it could read
    Phillips
    Solly, Johnson, Lennon, Holmes-Dennis
    Holmes, Jackson, Crofts, Harriott
    Ajose, Novak

That's just crazy how much of a change that is

I think the vast majority of our loans have been unsuccessful and that was borne out by a comprehensive article in VOTV last season. The loanees are usually, in our case, only passing through and the clubs lending them out reportedly often want to attach conditions about playing time etc. It's a different matter if it's a loan with a view to a permanent transfer (e.g. Derek Hales) but we don't seem to go in for them these days. A lot of people also probably shudder when they recall the series of lamentable loan deals arranged by Pardew in 2007 and 2008, as we continued on our downward spiral.

As se9addick says, we want the club to selectively use the loan system, rather than trying to use it to prop up the squad. It is not a panacea for our lack of players. What is needed - and what we're now highly unlikely to get - are permanent signings where there is a reasonable prospect of those players still being at Charlton in three years time. As we all know, that's how you build a successful side - that and being able to hold onto your best young players for more than half a season.

Unfortunately, Duchatelet appears to be committed to a revolving door approach at all levels.
  • 1. How many players have left the squad since the end of the last season. I mean everyone, loans etc. Interesting to compare numbers.

    2. Where is RCC?

    3. Where is Lapsie

    4. Where is the young lad who was our first signing of the summer?

I hope the regime don't believe we can rely on our academy to get us out of this division.. However I must say some of the young players we have are more than capable of playing at this level.

I do remember before Lookman came on the scene everyone was shouting about Josh Umerah, I think he'd be a great addition to the squad and I'd personally have him over KAG as back up as he looks a lot more physically suited to this division.

Obviously we still need 5-6+ players but some of the youngsters look like they can step up to the plate when needed, we live in hope...

RCC is injured. Lapsie is with the U21 as is Yam Fam.
Thanks DP. Does anyone know how long RCC is out for/what the injury is? Also, how old are Lapsie and YamFam, assume they will not play a partthisseason if they have not made it through to what there is of a first team squad in pre season.

Having seen Hanlan in pre season, I would rate him as a better prospect than KAG or Umerah personally.

Hopefully they get game time and the boo boys don't get on their back too early as I can see Lookman being used as a wide player if he stays...

Out of all of the clubs RD owns/involved with , why not send the spaniard back to Spain and alcorcon?!

STVV are in the top flight, I am sure in RD's eyes top flight Belgian football is above second tier Spanish football and third rate English football

He probably thinks it's the equivalent to the middle of the Premier League and the likes of Everton, Stoke, West Ham...

Lookman is wasted on the wing, we need him driving through the centre running at centre backs, all wishful thinking as he'll probably be gone by the end of the month :-(

Surely he'd go to a Championship or even Premier League side like Burnley

Funny that I should say that...
