Thats what i mean in odd,let a very good keeper go out on a season loan only to sign one a couple of days later as cover. Makes you think that Rudd really did want to come here lol!Richard J said:
Not really . They would ideally want three experienced keepers .Redvalleyeast said:Norwich just signed a goalkeeper, odd after letting Rudd come to us?!
This is good news for us as it lessens the chances of Rudd being recalled . Maybe this was what delayed the move the Canaries wanting to sign a third keeper in Paul Jones.0 -
It also gives Rudd 1st team experience for the whole season, much better for him than warming a bench. So it's a good deal all round3
-
I would suggest it is the Foley deal being done. Just doing the medical and signing on the dotted line so he can play or be in the squad for Saturday.2

Ah so what you're saying is we need an elite level doping programme?BR7_addick said:How Barca won so much with Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Suarez etc without a Makienok type player is beyond me..

Will be naffed off if that is it.WhenIwasLittleBoy said:I would suggest it is the Foley deal being done. Just doing the medical and signing on the dotted line so he can play or be in the squad for Saturday.
He has been with us playing football for a month. Why wait till today to do a medical?
Surely its Pearce. It must be.0 -
Would you really need to do a medical for a player who has been training with the squad for a month???WhenIwasLittleBoy said:I would suggest it is the Foley deal being done. Just doing the medical and signing on the dotted line so he can play or be in the squad for Saturday.

Unlike us, normal football clubs don't rely on 18 year olds that aren't ready as cover. It would be odd if they let their 2nd choice go on loan and had an inexperienced teenager as back up to Ruddy.Redvalleyeast said:

I'm pretty sure they would have covered all that in preseason as a usual routine thereby making a medical obsoleteWhenIwasLittleBoy said:

No Foley has not signed a contract, but I think the player having a medical is Jason Pearce.1

Good signing for us6

Medical team and CEO behaving like second hand car dealers looking to get themselves the best deal on a part exchange.All_Thaid_Up said:you have it wrong. We want to make sure he is injured before we sign him!

Louis is next13

Rudd, Solly, Pearce, Bauer/Johnson, Fox
Hamer, Solly, Taylor/Cort, Morrison, Wiggins
Good comparison.
Really need to get the central midfield signing right as that is where we are lacking (amongst other things such as squad depth).0 -
Swindon Town supporter sitting behind me in the office literally just said he is pacey, good on the ball, and energetic. Their best player along with Ajose last year. Has potential to get more goals in a better team.Redhenry said:Louis is next

Thats your starting line up. Could Konsa cover Solly's knees? Leaving the two more being another striker and another midfielder?
Bench players - Phillips, Johnson, Holmes-Dennis, Konsa, Lennon, Harriott, Jackson, Ba, New Striker, New Midfielder, Ahearne Grant. Diarra and Kashi come back to add depth or get sold.
Sold - Tex, probably another.
Could be worse....3 -
Can see these leaving before the month is up.
Fox-Harriott-Tex-Lookman0 -
Pearce, Foley and Thompson... plus a target man and I'll be feeling a bit better going into September.1
-
Sound like Slade won the stand off with Miere over the players he wanted.
Good on him.
Sticking with my top six finish prediction17 -
Thompson in before Saturday?0

Fox-Harriott-Tex-Lookman
Lose Tex? Fair enough - we have a strong defence without him now. Lose Harriott and Lookman? Thats crazy and if they do that then we have no cover.
Lose Fox? Play Holmes Dennis in a more Wiggins style role, but you need back up.1
