Still around but probably looking at Xmas to return, although there must be some doubt if he'll recover again.LennyLowrent said:Kashi still around? Injured? How long?

So last season, Callum Harriott was playing on loan in a division below CAFC. Soon he could be playing in a division above Charlton.
Holy moly Roly; WTF have you done to our club.7 -
Slade: "We are two-thirds of the way down the road with another one. I would be hopeful that we could get him for the weekend but time is running out,".
Slade added that there was speculation surrounding Callum Harriott and Jorge Teixeira. A number of Championship clubs have shown an interest in Harriott, and a deal for the winger to exit The Valley could be close.0 -
Harriott's proven he can score and create goals in League One. Slade might also get more out of him.
Should be kept as one of four wide players but now we'll have two (if you count Lookman, which means one less striker).
We needed a striker and winger before anyone left, now we'll need another new signing. Doubt we'll find much better than Harriott. We got promoted with Green, Wagstaff with Ephraim, N'Guessan and Cook on loan remember. None of them really Championship players.7 -
expecting Foley to sign today, 2 year deal0
-
Harriot will go, I don't think he's Slade's type of player really and doesn't add enough to the team, he wants hardened pro's, but suspect it's not been his ultimate decision, despite all the top 6 budget business it's about KM balancing RD's books. She probably has a wage target to reach.
I think you'll see a few more youngsters go out on loan also.1 -
Imaginary? No, witnessed it first hand. A mate played for vcd and I went to see a Kent cup match a few years bank. Harriot murdered them, scored and created a few. After 30 minutes he demanded to be substituted because he had done his job. When eventually tackled he started on the guy and questioned who he was and what has he done. Harriot had only played 2-3 first team games at this point.ValleyGary said:

Nd he has an attitude problem, thinks he is better than he actually is, he will be a league 2 player in 3 years. The only problem I have is the timing, we have 5.5 hours for a replacement in time to play at burySwisdom said:Can't say I'll miss Harriott if he goes. Incredibly frustrating for me because he's more of an athlete than a footballer. Just doesn't have the intelligence to put the ball into dangerous places frequently enough.
Maybe he just needs some great coaching but I'm not convinced he'll ever really hit the heights.
I imagine that you imagine he hasn't got an attitude problem and he is in fact as good as messi0 -
That leaves us needing a winger, striker and two CMs in my book.
Foley is neither which makes that a weird signing if true.
Cover for Solly I guess but still leaves us needing four more if Harriott is off.
Tex obviously also gone. For every player that goes in addition we need one more.
It may well be he doesn't use wingers in the Harriott vein. We do seem to be getting linked with lots of more central midfielders (Adeyemi, Thompson, Gobern, Dawson).2 -
Harriot is out of contract at the end of this season and will probably leave (let's be honest who would want to stay) so can understand why the club are selling...0

Maybe Jackson on left and Holmes on the right cutting in3

So because he once mugged off a couple of amateur footballers - when he was what, 18? - he's got a career-damaging attitude problem. Brilliant. 9 times out of 10 whenever someone claims a player has an attitude problem it's because they've got a personal stake in it, this is no different.Todds_right_hook said:

I find it interesting that so many people online are getting annoyed at the idea of selling Harriott - set against people's actual reaction to him on a match day.
That familiar sound of the Valley crowd groaning as he cocks up just about everything he ever tries.
Nice guy, good attitude and a good athlete, but just doesn't have enough quality. Those frustrating decisions, wayward shots and crosses, I personally believe that it doesn't really matter if you drop down a level - you either have it or you don't as a creative player.
So I for one am not too fussed if he goes, but I guess that all hinges on bringing in a good replacement.5 -
Everyone goes on about wingers but I think they are an endangered species these days, back in the days of Chris Waddle everybody had one. A drop of the shoulder or a little trick to buy a yard and then a dangerous cross, now crossing seems to be the remit of the fullback. Wide players either simply tuck in or play as a wide striker, looking to get shots away. Pace and strength are valued far more than tricks these days and Harriott is that all over, he can score but doesn't often deliver a cross. In a decent side he will look good.0

Jackos days as a winger or wide midfielder were shot at the end of the title winning season - never mind now!Redhenry said:Maybe Jackson on left and Holmes on the right cutting in

No you're right. He's got messi in his Twitter name so he must be as good as him.Todds_right_hook said:

And I'm sure the semi-pro playing against a young professional wasn't dishing out any stick before hand as well. Harriott bit and now he's got an attitude problem for the rest of his career. Rightyo.4 -
Two in today. Foley and one other. Also one out.
Possibly. I may have just made that up!2 -
Calumn Messi? I reckon he rates himself.2

That's who I'd play certainly at the moment. Jacko may be in his twilight years and won't strip most full backs for pace but he'll put in a shift each and every game, will track back when needed and will be one of the better ball crossers in this division, can tackle and is a good shield for Fox. Think Walsh & Minto (although I'm not directly comparing Fox to Minto!)Redhenry said:Maybe Jackson on left and Holmes on the right cutting in
I expect he'll start more away games than home where experience and graft will be important.
Dont underestimate what the skipper has still to give even if it won't be 90 minutes every game. I think having experience on the left wing (and also CB) will get the best out of fox too.
He'll also get a few goals.2 - Sponsored links:

Cally is shit, end of. Don't care if he's homegrown etc. That just means half our fans think he can do no wrong. The amount of wrong decisions he makes every time he is on the pitch is staggering. Sure every now and then he surges past a couple of players, or takes a dig that the keeper is scrambling for, but it's once every 3-4 games, and is nowhere near good enough. I just hope we bring in someone to play on the left to fill the gap left in the squad7

And I reckon im a low area of land between hills or mountains, typically with a river or stream flowing through it.Alwaysneil said:Calumn Messi? I reckon he rates himself.
It's an Internet username he probably come up with when he was 15 ffs.22 -

There is one HUGE advantage playing Jacko on left wing over Harriott. So much better cover defensively for Fox...0 -

Jackos a Charlton man and all that - but it would be painful to watch.0 -
Jackson never had pace, but one of the main reason it worked in League One was he regularly had Wiggins bombing on past him when he came up against the full back. He could either play the ball into the space Wiggins was speeding into or he could use Wiggins to pass round the defender. Wiggins being a presence down the left wing also allowed Jackson to drop back and arrive late in the box, which is how he gets a lot of his goals. That doesn't happen now with Fox; he's not got a lot of pace himself and he's more of a cross from deeper full back rather than a byline crosser like Wiggins. I'll never write Jacko off but our current personnel and what our tactics have looked like so far don't suit him playing wide.7

That's the Cally that scored shit loads of goals for Colchester in league one last season?sam3110 said:Cally is shit, end of. Don't be ridiculous , he's not shit and never has been.
It looks like he's going listening to that Slade interview but I think he would be an asset in this division .6 -
Seem to remember an interview with Calumn as well 'so Calumn who is the best player technically in the squad.' 'I am.'0

Maybe Reading think they're getting Ainsley Harriot as an addition to their catering staff.
Maybe.0
