Phillips will not be going to Cheltenham.
Goalkeeper Russell Griffiths from Everton.
The 20-year-old joins Cheltenham on loan until January 2 and could be in line to make his debut tomorrow against Leyton Orient. Russell has played for England U20s.0 -
Well I really hope he's fantastic. In Slade I trust.harveys gardener said:
SHG have you seen him play? 18 yo players debut in Prem, many more in Champ and we are 3rd tier. He is better than Konch who started at a higher level aged 16, and many others.ShootersHillGuru said:
Konsa isn't ready for regular football. That's why our experienced manager is signing cover for Solly. It's really pretty straightforward.harveys gardener said:I think it is better to blood a young CB at RB where a mistake is not necessarily a goal. Didn't Rufus start there? Brownie did. As for pace, it's like comparing British sprinters to Bolt. I'd guess Konsa is in top five of squad for speed. Probably better on the ball than Gomez who relies on accelleration to get out of trouble.

Because they sell their best players for actual money, that goes straight back into the club.DamoNorthStand said:How the hell can Peterborough afford £1m?!
Thats their gate receipts for a year!4 -
Kevin Foley signing confirmed (short-term deal)0
-
Kevin Foley has signed a six month permanent contract.6
-
Is that really the midfielder that was close to joining? Depressing.0
-
Good cover for Solly - both full back berths very secure.
Solly / Foley on right
Fox / Holmes-Dennis on left.
Just need 2 midfielders (one wide to replace Harriott) and a striker.
Assuming Tex goes and no more. Anyone else on top of Tex would need to be replaced.4 -
Had to lol that @dickplumbdickplumb said:Kevin Foley has signed a six month permanent contract.
Six month deals now count as permanent contracts!1 -
Said Foley will get a deal to make up numbers, will be on the bench tomorrow, only till January for now. Expect at least another midfielder in by the home game.1

Edit: Actually, at Charlton under Roland, a manager would probably get a testimonial for that!!TelMc32 said:

Clever way to structure the deal, though I'm sure Foley will be disappointed. This means he's here for cover for the start of the season. It'll give a chance to play Konsa in the cup games. If he looks ready to provide cover at RB and CM, then Foley will be sent on his way in January. If not, I'm sure we can keep Foley through the end of the year.dickplumb said:Kevin Foley has signed a six month permanent contract.
Can't believe I've just complimented our handling of a transfer.2 -
Foley for 6 months is a good deal. If he's fit, plays well and it works he'll probably be happy for it to be extended for a further 6-18 months2

No disrespect to him just feel very underwhelmed.0

That really is damning with faint praise isn't it? He looked ok for parts of a few games when surrounded by inadequate disillusioned misfits in a side heading breakneck for relegation.hudson-son-son said:Absolutely baffling how people have forgotten Harriott's form at the end of last season where he was one of our most committed and dangerous players for struggling in some meaningless, fitness building pre season games.
.
If Calamity holds down a first team place at Reading I'll be astonished, or they're heading for a swift relegation, or both.0 -
Yes he's decent cover and experience but if he's one of the players Russell was so desperate to get in then somethings wrong.0
-
Rumour of a signing prior to K.O... remember Racon and Semedo?
Guessing it'll be like that.0 -

Why?CharltonByBlood said:No disrespect to him just feel very underwhelmed.
He is only going to be a squad back up player, but a decent enough experienced player to come in and do a job rather than rely on the kids. Useful signing to go along side the very good signings of Holmes, Novak, Ajose, Crofts, Rudd and Pearce.3 -

Same mate that spoke to Steve Avory about Texeira. Just to add it'll be just the one player signing.DamoNorthStand said:

surprised Foley took that unless it's play xx games and you get an extension. Would have thought he could have got longer elsewhere, unless he's that desperate to play for us/shagging Katie.3

That be the one. Apologies it was Zheng I was thinking of. He and Semedo are very alike in terms of looks and footballing stylericky_otto said:
