Hang on, where is the link between Ajose and Charlton? Wasn't it just a random comment that's generated 50 responses?2

We won't get Nicky Ajose. In other words NO Way Ajose.

I heard down the Valley caff that reduced season ticket sales have really bitten deep and any incomings will be either frees or out of contracts.0

Not really, one person on here said we are after him and a few others guessed he'd cost about £750k.harveys gardener said:So we'd be happy to sign a one season L1 striker for £750k but ok with letting a full international go for £1m, when he looked to be heading for a similar strike rate at a higher level. Weird!!!
Who's confirmed we'll be selling a player for £1m?2 -

I wish I had the same level of access to inside information as Colin.
Such certainty is enviable. Riddled as I am with doubt about our ability attract player in a head to head bid.
I take comfort in knowing that my concerns are groundless and it is only because I am not on the inside that I feel this way.1 -

Ok, Is this Lee Novak just running out of contract at Birmingham and been on loan to Chesterfield where he scored a bit shy of 1 in 2 last season?
If so, he sounds pretty good, if not stellar, I hope he keeps moving on but with Charlton.
Be nice to have at least one name on the team sheet for next year.1 -

At his age should be somewhere near his peak. Also English with decent experience which makes a change for this ownership.
Mixed scoring record but perhaps League One is his level and he was never a regular with Birmingham, 42 league starts mainly over two seasons.
Season - Goals (including cup) - Division
15/16 - 15 - League One
14/15 - 2 - Championship
13/14 - 10 - Championship
12/13 - 6 - Championship
11/12 - 17 - League One

Fingers crossed on this one. I didn't like him when he was at Huddersfield a few years ago but he's certainly a nuisance for defenders.Redhenry said:Novak, quite pleased we beat Bolton to it.

I went down to the valley today with my 3 year old step son(his first visit) we visited the club shop an oldish chap came in asked the shop staff guy if there was any news on signings? The guy behind the till said no but Russell Slade had been down the valley everyday since he joined us trying to get players in! Anyway the supporter chap then said last season we should have done better with the players we had and I was shocked to hear the guy behind the till reply and I quote "we was never going to stay up with the fans behaving the way they did and being against the owner!!! I thought are the kidding me mate! What a joke!0

Is Novak a target man? If so, maybe someone else is going to be signed to work alongside him?0

Not sure if on here but looks like we might be close on signing Holmes. Northampton fans rate him very highly, so doesn't seem to be one of those 'not bothered he's off, we've got xxxx to replace him'.

And his You Tube video is decent.....;-)https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=F1DX1i2wW4s

Back South from Northampton?colin1961 said:Ricky Holmes hopes asking for a move will force the club to accept newly relegated Charlton offer. It's been reported that one offer has been turned down but expect a deal to go through now the player has made his stand.
Holmes comes from Essex and favours a move back south.
Good one Mr Wum.1 -

There is South and South though, that move would be South with a lower case s, so more south.CAFCsayer said:

Ketts suggesting Slade prefers two mobile strikers rather than a target man.CAFC_Norfolk said:Is Novak a target man? If so, maybe someone else is going to be signed to work alongside him?

Considering he is from Essex, it is a move back South. Colin is a bellend, but he's getting baited even when he is actually talking sense now. It's boring.cfgs said:
