Diarra / Kashi v Cousins are three completely different Midfielders so getting rid of one to keep the others is stupid.
Cousins will get up and down the pitch covering every blade of grass... Kashi / Diarra on the other hand will sit in front of the back four and simply either be the one who starts and attack or be a pitbull and be the last obstacle before the opposition get to the Defence.
The fact we're looking for a Centre-Back and Holding Midfielder (Going by RedHenry here) sounds interesting as could either mean we're about to lose one of Diarra or Kashi (i.e. the CDM will be replace them) or Diarra is being seen as a Centre-Back this season and the Holding Midfield will be coming in as competition (or as a replacement) for Kashi.
Cousins is a decent player in midfield, but hardly irreplaceable, especially playing in L1. Danny Hollands and Darel Russell did much the same job as he did.
He made lots of England youth appearances playing RB, but none since moving to midfield. Maybe RB is long term his better position, most full backs these days are expected to spend all their time running up and and down the flanks
The plan is Vetokele will go on loan and come back firing when we are in the champ.
Risky game. Things rarely go exactly to plan. Good to see they are aiming for promotion but to expect it like that could easily backfire. Dare I say it, it may demonstrate they have underestimated the quality of the league we are in?
Having a laugh , for all his excellent work cousins final ball is awful ... Keep Kashi and the title is ours
Why @colin1961 do you always slag off / undermine decent / generally popular Charlton players that have come up from the Academy (that Meire is trying to offload) and lionise the new players brought in under Duchatelet ?
For all his faults, Colin is right in what he says. Kashi has potential to be a superb player for us.
I love Jordan Cousins but I can't see him staying so we might as well cash in. His final ball just hasn't improved and maybe a change of scenery will do him good.

He's a WUM
He does it to get a rise and take heat from other forum users - Histrionic Personality Disorder
JBG, Cousins, Harriott, Fox are all off by the sounds of it. Haven't heard anything about Tex, but if his salary is high, I guess he'll be off too.
Losing Harriott would be unique (meaning weird), he has proved himself in this league and with JBG going we are hardly overrun with wide men; I would be surprised if Callys wages are huge.
Fox I am not bothered, if we get cash for him then great.
JBG is inevitable and he would not be interested in L1.
Cousins a shame as I think he is the natural replacement for Solly at some point. He will make an excellent RB, doesn't have the creativity for CM.

I think we will come to regret letting cousins go far more than the likes of Kermorgant Stephens or Morrison.

Will go on to be far better than Charlton.
I don't disagree - I'm one of his biggest fans. If his passing were better he'd be a premier league player.
But he is not likely to play in the 3rd tier when he will undoubtedly have bigger and better offers

So you think cousins is better than Kashi ..... sorry mate just because he is a Charlton player through the ranks does not mean he don't have faults , get the rose tinted glasses off and you will see cousins first touch and passing is way below it should be and that's why he being linked with teams like Brighton and Birminghsm and not better teams in the championship
Whilst nobody is trying to buy Kashi, so by your own argument you are proving that Cousins is better than Kashi.
"Charlton boss Russell Slade is looking to bring in a centre-back leader - with a number of Championship defenders in the mix. The South London Press has been told that Michael Turner, Matthew Kilgallon and David Wheater are all of interest to the Addicks."

Slade challenging the imports to prove their worth.
I could take losing JBG (which was inevitable anyway), Cousins, Harriott, Fox.

Norwich in for JBG.
They've just had £10 million for Redman, give us £8 million and you can have him!

He was looking for a permanent deal back south earlier this year, but nothing occurred.
Will ask his brother in law, if this could happen.
