    It's the beginning of the end - closed blocks/closed stand/closed ground.
    Sold for flats and RD walks away.

    They really think we are stupid don't they? Assuming the figures mentioned above are roughly right - £100 a game saving on a few stewards = c £2500 a season. More than lost if ten or so fans who sit there decide not to bother as a result. The same is equally true for the idea of shutting the Upper North or West. Complete false economy. It's purely and simply to try to sell more expensive seats and a doomed attempt to make the ground look less empty. The current attendances and empty stands are an absolutely indictment to the colossal mismanagement of the club under Katrien Meire @seaofredseats

    Push fans closer together to try and make the ground look a bit busier, especially on telly. Not that I'm a conspiracy theorist or anything.

    Looks like Zone 5, so £275 for an adult.

    Pay £275 and use a £475 seat. Well done Katrien.

    They're shutting down those blocks for H&S reasons as RD intends to re-instate the planning permission for the second tier works to the east stand and with the roof removed over blocks A & B it gives access for the construction work that had been lost by the sale of the land behind the East Stand.

    Tony Keohane will be project managing this next phase of The Valley development and construction is due to commence in June 2017, or as soon as he's resolved the parking issues and the drainage problems at Sparrows Lane which has been causing him sleepless nights.

    This is the point that nearly everyone has so far missed: whatever the offer and regardless of the blocks, it's a hidden admission by the SMT that attendances will be well below those of this season; that they'll lose another 2000 or so ST sales.

    Either way, £300 anyhere else in the ground is £125 more than the Lower North I believe, so it isn't a great deal.

    Looks like T20k will achieve it's aim next season - with 20k empty seats for every game... There have definately been a few games this season when there have been as many, if not more away suporters in the Jimmy Seed than home supporters in the East.

    Simply to stop people paying £17 and sitting in a £26 seat. So I'm told by people who have heard of that. Not me of course. wouldn't dream of it.

    Good morning. Oyston did the same trick with us last season. Closed one side of the ground, moved home fans all to the South Stand and gave half the North to away. All affected ST holders were given new seats in a different stand just like that. Saved costs I guess but does nothing for atmosphere, not that there's been any at BR for ages.....

    Letter from de cloob received today has confirmed all the details. No mention of improving the atmosphere. The Blocks closing are A and B in the East Stand & H and R in the West. The "official" reasons are to 1. Simplify The Valley stadium map from 7 zones to 5. 2. Ensure a fairer pricing structure to supporters who sit in similar areas. Clearly number 2 is nearer the truth as number 1 is nonsense. It's all a bit laughable as it was their decision to implement the current pricing structure that was never going to work as there is no effective way to police it. It was always going to be open to abuse. The only way it work is if the ground is sold out every game. Ha! Apparently season ticket renewal packs will be in the post from this Monday 27th. Don't expect any startling pricing initiative is my guess!

    We're closing four blocks to simplify the stadium map? The fecking stadium map!

    A fairer pricing structure? Fairer than the total mess they dreamed up last year?

    What was that about couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery?

    "Season tickets for Charlton’s 2017/18 campaign will go on sale at 9am on Monday morning.

    The Addicks will once again be one of the most affordable clubs to follow in the EFL next season, with adult prices beginning at £175 – equating to just £7.61 per league match.

    Over 4,000 season tickets will be available at this price and U11s will once again be free when bought alongside an adult in the family stand.

    As well as this, all season tickets purchased or renewed before the early-bird deadline will come with a free, six-month subscription to the club’s new, premium video service, which will launch on July 1st.

    Full details on next season’s prices will be published at 9am on Monday morning - when they go on sale - and that is also when current season ticket holders should begin to receive their renewal packs in the post."
