I could pop along to 'A Night at the Museum' and try and summarise the situation for those who haven't been paying attention?0

Good luck with that, pal.DOUCHER said:I could pop along to 'A Night at the Museum' and try and summarise the situation for those who haven't been paying attention?

DEFCON 5 is very low level alert.seth plum said:It was said previously that if it didn't happen by the end of November then all bets are off. Impending transfer window and all that.
We are past that date, not by much but past it.
If I were in a position to buy (which I may be after this evenings Euromillions) and was being messed about over fringe issues or single digit percentages I would be tempted to tell Mr Duchatelet to carry on. To continue to stack up losses, and to endure the further reaction of the fans which will surely manifest if there is no certainty of promotion.
I believe we are now at the witching hour, at DEFCOM 5, if anything is delayed so as to mess up the transfer window and the sale of half season tickets (I am poised to get mine) then there will be cosmic vituperation.2 -
You e not been at the cat food again by mistake have you?1

football.london/championship/charlton-athletic-australian-football-consortium-13997736 Hadn't seen this linked anywhere. Some very brief quotes and talk of a Swiss investor?11

Interesting that they’ve got some quotes from Muirs end... do they know something we don’t?CroydonAddick1 said:football.london/championship/charlton-athletic-australian-football-consortium-13997736 Hadn't seen this linked anywhere. Some very brief quotes and talk of a Swiss investor?

I’d guess the Swiss investor might be something to do with Red Bull? The fact that Muir chose not to comment rather than deny anything tells you he’s involved in itself.CroydonAddick1 said:football.london/championship/charlton-athletic-australian-football-consortium-13997736 Hadn't seen this linked anywhere. By 'putting the best people in place' I assume the Aussies mean a CEO who knows something about football and can build a good support team for Karl.....rather than a new manager (making the big assumption that they are talking about us).
Karl has a team that fits his style now. We don't need a change of manager.....just for him to be supported with a bit more squad depth / quality...particularly up front where the obvious problem we have is not having the players to score enough goals to get promotion.3 -
Getting done and dusted by January is starting to look a daunting prospect.0

Don't worry, like the Facunda Save mask we wore at QPR for the Fulham game all Addicks should turn up wearing two items to support our new owners on Saturday.ShootersHillGuru said:Getting done and dusted by January is starting to look a daunting prospect.

At this moment in time, anything has to be better than Roland.1 -

God knows what the next owners are like.
Roland is finally on his way out (hopefully) !!!
If the new owners are also bad eggs then we go again. I can understand being cautious but compared to Roland, almost anything has to be better.
Very good points.Stig said:
Roland, you failed miserably. It had nothing to do with social media, and everything to do with the decisions you made and the way you conducted your business. Sure social media was useful in helping the fans to mobilise against you but the reasons for your failure are all your own:carly burn said:
“It was an interesting experience and I learned a lot about how social media have an impact on the psychology of masses and how they can influence decisions which affect many people.”
As said by many the moment he walked in the door. This was just some f****d up experiment.
Fella should be tried imo.
1.Your ill-matched ragbag of network clubs did not bring synergies on the playing front.
2.You seriously underestimated the greed of the other clubs and the chances of the rejecting FFP.
3.You inexplicably appointed and retained a CEO who was hopelessly incapable.
4.You made other bizarre appointments including a chip shop manager and gamer-freak to roles that should have been taken on by experienced professionals.
5.From the very start you lied, and let others lie, about your intentions. Premier League, pah!
6.You shunned the fans, you could have had us on your side. Instead you started a war.
7.You alienated and then sacked the best manager this club had had since it's Premiership days.
8.You appointed a carousel of managers who, contrary to your CEO's otherworldly opinion, got progressively worse.
9.You foisted players on the club who were inexperienced, ill suited and frequently insufficiently talented.
10.You demonstrated your contempt for the club, by refusing to attend games.
11.You blamed others for your failures.
12.You disrespected the fans, history and culture of our football club.
13.You allowed important areas of the business (most notably ticketing and comms, probably others as well) to struggle due under resourcing and ridiculous decisions.
14.By surrounding yourself with sycophants and refusing to listen to critique you placed yourself in a bubble where you had no chance of understanding any of the above.
15.Ultimately though, you bought the wrong club. If you'd have done your due diligence properly, you would have known that Charlton fans have more imagination, spirit and fight in them that you could ever muster.
Number 7 makes me angry.7 -
The deeper into December we go the more and more likely it won’t happen til some time in January. Legal firms etc are winding up ahead of the holidays which slows everything down anyway.0

Or even down2

I think Muir is too busy gloating over the Ashes to get the deal done...0

At least muir is a “English soccer” fan and, you would guess would know the correct way to run a football club and not to say idiotic things like “I don’t care about the history of the club”CroydonAddick1 said:football.london/championship/charlton-athletic-australian-football-consortium-13997736 Hadn't seen this linked anywhere. The deal I’ve been working on since July was announced today and it required the main negotiators to work on it last two days 20 hours a day to finalise the documents.....
Come on Duchatelet, Christmas is coming. I’ll send you a nice card if it goes through this week or next.3 -
Although ironically the 2010 and 2013-14 takeovers were both done over Christmas and New Year. I took a phone call from an interested party on the latter one while attending a kids’ pantomime in Wimbledon, I remember.kentaddick said:The deeper into December we go the more and more likely it won’t happen til some time in January. I remember in 13/14 being in Melbourne after a day at the mcg. We were in a bar at a Barmy army night and asking a couple of blokes in Charlton shirts who this Belgium bloke was that had bought us! Little did any of us know then what would transpire!

Lawyers and bankers just work through Christmas if there is a deal to be done. I should know!2
