1 being Roland and 10 being a dream owner (we all have different ideas of what that is )
where ,with whatever limited info you have Prague, would you rate Bexley Man and co
disclaimer : your answer will not be used against you when they turn out to be utter pony
well, I still have a few unanswered questions myself which means any answer at this stage is based on less info than would make me confident in my answer. But here goes.
Bexley Man himself is not an investor. He's a proper Charlton fan who is rather bending his professional remit as an investment banker to try and save his club, by finding such investors.
As for the main man, he is already in football, and when i investigated the recent story of the club, I was very pleasantly surprised. That club is in the Europa League qualifiers, and to the chagrin of a couple of rivals who consider themselves "bigger". Also the "community" story around that Club, and his interest in that around Charlton (thanks to Bexley Man who showed him various videos) is very positive. Bexley Man believes he will want to restore the link between the boardroom and active fans.
However I don't think that he's overall as rich as RD (but then again, fat lot of good that did us). Also with his current club, it enjoys a lot of sponsorship backing from a massive company, which makes perfect sense in that location, but AFAIK the company does not plan to launch into the UK market (but again, only AFAIK). It might be that there could be another player who joins the bid, only my speculation but obviously an unknown factor if that happens.
So I think a cautious "7". From what I know (i.e what i have read on here) I would not give either the Aussies or Dalman that much, maybe a 6 in both cases. Aussies I mark down because of the bizarre business of the EFL submissions, Dalman, not sure of his motivation to own us.
ffs - read that as the name of the company sponsoring the other team he owns. Just googled it looking for a clue as to who the guy might be. This takeover needs to happen, now. Sanity is waining
It is strange that DLT could not come to the Forum meeting because he was involved with 3 offers for the club, so what has happened in the meantime, nothing by the looks of things, so the suspicion that he was just avoiding difficult questions was right
While it would be great if a takeover were completed before the transfer window closes allowing new owners to give LB some spending money the club is 114 years old, it's a 100 years since we first played at the Valley.
Getting rid of Duchatelet is the most important thing, then we can move forward.
RD probably thinks "well if this new group are prepared to offer X amount, then maybe another group might offer more." Rinse repeat. One thing is for sure, he is definitely not desperate to sell, so can play this little game of his.

Agree Henry but the chance of getting relegated back to league one are high and would be a massive blow that could be mitigated if Bowyer is given a fair crack. As we know. Getting promoted out of league one is not as easy as it sounds. If we don’t have new owners then we go with what we have and I’m sure Bowyer will make a real fist of it but it’s a real pity. It is what it is.

Absolutely but the world, or Charlton, won't end on 8 August if we don't have new owners.
It's an important factor for sure but this window is not the be all and end all.
Once we get passed the year 2019 there are many already scheduled events (Olympics, world cups, etc) and anniversaries (100 years as a league club) to keep @happyvalley going.
Morning all, just back from hols last night and got a message re the "European bid" as I guess we can call it. Please bear with me, I am at arm's length with these guys, so if after reading the following, you have questions, well, you and me both! Anyway...
They have tabled an offer and this has been "accepted". That appears to mean that currently RD thinks it's one he will accept if he doesn't get a better one. The concern that this group share with most of us is that they fear that RD is playing everyone, and more or less at his leisure. The next step from these guys is that the main man will fly to London in approx two weeks together with the Charlton fan investment banker who has brought the bid team together. The only other thing I am able to mention is that the Charlton fan (I'm tempted to code name him Bexley Boy, 'cos he is ex Bexley Grammar :-) ) is well aware of the directors' loan issue and the proposed deal would address it. How, I don't know. The bigger issue seems to be the same as all other serious bidders must have had - how to persuade RD to finally say to himself, OK, I have tested the market enough, I take the best bid.
If a bid has been accepted and there are just 3 and a half weeks left until the transfer window closes, any idea why the main guy is wasting 2 of those weeks before flying to London? The man needs to be on a plane tonight!!
And will RD meet them in London or is it going to be left to Lieven the turkey to sort this out?
The Government has legislated against Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBTs) meaning that players' stakes are limited. However, it appears that, if someone really is still fixated on losing as much money as possible, there is a means of doing it.
First, you have to buy a football club. You then find - or pretend you have found - competing buyers for it. And you wait until you're offered a price big enough to accept.
The problem is that the price you get offered (the "winnings") are never quite as big as you want. And the "stake" is the million quid a month it costs you to keep playing.
FOBTs are a terrible means of stripping money away from those who most need it. But this new game - FTOB - gets my full support. Fleece The Old Bastard.
Well even the best case scenario looks like coming too late to impact on player recruitment.
I Don’t agree
I feel a lot of people are still thinking of the days gone by and are blurred a bit
I am not saying we are ready to compete fully and I certainly think we need atleast three more
But we have to recognize that we have to keep the books as balanced as possible
if we have a 15 who on average between them earn 5k per week that’s 240k a month on the first 15
then you have another 8 squad players on average of 3k per week that’s just shy of pissing 100k a month up the wall with players who are not really going to play
I think bow knows that things are happening he is getting good players to sign extensions he has bought in 2 very good defenders already
so right now the minimum is being done and that’s right imo at the moment
i would say the guys PA speaks of would have already been very well briefed about the issues with RD and the skeletons that will appear
The good news is it’s a three horse race there’s more chance one of them gets it done by taking the plunge
I belive the players brought in so far are from the list of deal and no deal. They are all relatively young and it's a big step up for them all. Also I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect them to want to stay even if we get relegated, plus if a take over happens sooner rather than later they would probably be happy enough being squad players.

Prague, is this two weeks imposed by Roland I wonder? Has he given Dalman or the Aussies two weeks to conclude a deal and if not then your guy can conclude a deal. In the meantime do you know if they have access to the Data Room at The Valley and are carrying out DD?
Btw, thanks for your info, it’s much appreciated.
I believe its holidays that are dictating the dates tbh ,
Thanks for the updates @PragueAddick and @nth london addick - very encouraging although we all know how easily things can go to shit with RD.
re the holiday thing. Wtf?? Don’t they know there are tens of thousands of addicks whose mental health hinges (or unhinges) on this deal being done. Tell them to get on a fucking plane @Prague! 🙂

That has been asked above, and I don't know the answers, including whether it is he who is 'wasting' that time, or RD.
All I can do is repeat that Bexley Man, who has brought this guy to the table (I think he is a mainstream client of BM) is proper Charlton. I don't think he reads CL, although he has a very old mate, a lurker, who does, but he definitely is as aware of the time pressures re transfer windows and the like as anyone on here, and will have explained this to the main man.
I will also make sure that the lurker has picked up @Airman Brown interesting comment re Muir above, although I have no idea if that would be of interest. It's well worth passing on.
I have no business background and in such matters I’m probably naive if not totally stupid. Here goes anyway. If an offer has been made, I assume that the potential buyer is happy and has made that bid because he wants to proceed. If the owner accepts that bid I assume that he too is happy with the offer and is also happy to proceed. That being the case. What on Earth is the hold up ?

Would suggest it’s due diligence, not normally done until a provisional price has been agreed, due diligence can decrease or increase the overall price.

And that's were all the "misrepresentations" by RD and LDT get found out like "no, the old directors won't take 25p in the pound, no you won't have clean title, yes I still want paying if a player gets sold or your go up and no I won't guarantee to accept liability when Footscray Rugby Club sue the club or for anything dodgy from when the spivs sold the club but I still want the price you agreed before you found all that out".

I believe Muir might be the ultra caution one in the Aussie group, which might put him off leaping into business with an unknown consortium.
Also relevant is the fact that part of his motivation is to help Aussie soccer.
