I don't usually post on this thread as I'm not ITK & have nothing to add. However, having read hundreds of posts recently I would like just to add a few points if I may.

    1) One of the bids is not from RD's "mate". The quote was saying is was someone he "trusts". Not the same thing. Can we stop saying its his mate as it seems like its a close friend & someone who knows him well. It may just be a business man who he has heard of & knows how he works, rather than some Aussies.

    2) an earlier post today was trying to summarise the 3 bids, but no-one can say as no-one knows. To say the KR's comments about the 4-6 players coming in must mean that he';d already spoken to the potential new owners is just speculation & I would say very wide of the mark. I expect the reason why KR was so pissed off at the press conference was that he had been talking to KR over the last month about bringing in players & just as the transfer window opens she is gone & a takeover is formally spoken about. This has left him in limbo & I expect the players that he had lined up are now not able to sign due to no funds (he was probably lied to but he should have been wiser imo) or that the players now aren't sure as they may not think that KR will be here much longer. In any case I doubt very much if KR has spoken to anyone about potential transfers since last week, let alone new owners.

Apologies if someone has already posted but apparently RD is in town. Perhaps he is over to sign on the dotted line?

Right! You hold him down and I'll give his wrinkly old ball bag a good kick...
At first I genuinely read ‘lick’ not ‘kick’ what ever makes you happy @soapy_jones

Happy new year everyone . It’s 2018 in New Zealand and it’s the start of a great year for the world’s greatest club. Little bit drunk but that’s par for the course and the sentiment is

Roland, this is what's happened to our beloved club under your ownership. This is what you'll see from your seat in the Directors Box.

    Now

    Just sell the Club

He switched the north stand and east stand around?!? He really does have no respect for our traditions.
& they haven't been switched around if your saying one picture is Covered End & other east stand ?

Exiled ? When were you last there ?
Ha yeah, my mistake! It never ends well when I try to be a smart arse.

    Vs. Gillingham in September.

No wonder you're exiled......shameful, its called the Cupboard End, all true haddocks know that.
Well possibly if it wasn't the East Stand

No it's looking into the future when RB LondonCA RDs mate play real madrid in the semi Final of the European Cup (Now stupidly called the CHAMPIONS league where teams who finish 1st 2nd 3rd & 4th in their league compete)

Hey I've only just realised Charlton Athletic CA Roland Douchebag RD ......... CARD ??????? Airman !!!! You have some explaining to do ?

I think the photos were meant to show how the valley could look if Douchbag had supported Chris Powell instead of sacking him and giving us a load of network tossers instead
I completely missed that point then.

No need for the other parties to complete DD if the first party makes RD an offer that he finds acceptable. Unless the parties who have entered but not completed DD agree a clause that the club will not be sold until a certain date (don't know if this is possible). But it's in RD's interest to get a 3 bidding against each other.

Good chance that they've not made such an acceptable offer... I'd rather they'd all do it and we end up with the best (not necessarily richest) for the club.
RD will sell to whoever offers him the best deal, he won't give a s*** about CAFC, or it's future.
My meaning was that hopefully we end up with the ones that are best for the club in spite of Roland as all 3 completing due diligence will adjust the offers based on how much each party wants the club.

Party 1 - Quick to the table and has hung around - a degree of actual interest is assumed.
Party 2 - Not as quick as Muir
Party 3 - Very late to the table

    My Guesses

    Party 1
The Aussies we have known about for ages - with Andrew Muir
Have completed their DD but issues have occurred with either the final price and or the finances to pay RD
Also Roland might have doubts about his future fees (those Dance classes don;t pay for themselves)
are so close to buying the club that have spoken to KR (hence his comments yesterday about 4 players waiting to come through the door)

    Party 2
The Exciting Party who substantial financially and who @Redhenry alluded to
Probably about 3/4 way through DD (probably gone through quicker than the Aussies as most of the problems the Aussies DD brought up would have been sorted (planned to be sorted) by the club.
The one Roland ACTUALLY wants to sell to as they have money that he can try and get out of them

    Party 3
    Roland's Mate
Possibly Murray, possibly someone Roland has worked with before
This party i don;t think have any real possibility of getting the club, unless the others back out, and are being used as a way to Drive up the price, or speed up the proceedings

However @Airman Brown did say there were at least 3 parties. This means that there could be other Parties involved that we know nothing about

26 days to go till the end of Jan
My guess is that number 3, was late to the table as it is fronted by Peter Varney and he couldn't put his bid in til Daisy pissed off as she told Roland that he just wanted to sponsor a billboard.

Not every game but it is indicative of the decline in fans attending. Just take the £1 for a kid games which used to be 20k+ Nowadays you can hardly notice

@Davidsmith regarding a prospective buyer funding with debt, to use your expression, that would only be an issue if the assets being acquired, mainly the Valley and Training ground, were offered up as security to a lender. They could of course have other assets they could secure borrowings with. This does not detract from your conclusion however which I fully concur with.
  • From what I understand there are no other assets , as the Debentures cover all assets of the Club, so new buyer cannot borrow money against anything without clearing those loans. Airman confirm please.

David I agree with that, I meant they could borrow against other assets they may own i.e.not connected to the club. They may even have lines of credit established already.
  • Agree, but if I was buying and had real money then I would clear those loans.
That’s what all of us as supporters should watch, if buyer hasn’t got money to do a deal to clear those loans either by borrowing against external assets or by using cash then they either are stupid or chancers.
    Beware what we wish for.

The more I read this thread the more I wonder who the hell (other than a fan) would think buying Charlton is a good idea? It would be a massive gamble at best. Unless you reach the Premier League, isn't it just money down the drain?
The only way to break even running a club like Charlton would be to effectively give up any dreams of top flight football. And even then you'd struggle from what I've read here.
So what would your motivation be, particularly as a foreign buyer? You'd have to have the funds to finance a shot at double promotion, without being too concerned if it didn't happen. How many people like that are there?

Well I suppose as a takeover seems imminent someone must have a plan. Let's just hope it works out in our favour.

Mmmmm.....so let’s all Jack it in then and accept mediocrity, ala Michael Glikstein.....if the fucking Glaziers can do it so can we.

Exactly my issue. RB Leipzig are hated in Germany for that.

I don't see much difference between that and what Walker did with Blackburn or more recently, Chelsea and Man City or even Bournemouth to a lessor extent.

A different culture in Germany. Not saying I would necessarily want them, but don't see us being hated if we are.
  • Well at least we can sing “no one likes us” That will really piss off our local chums.

I might be whistling in the wind, but what we need is some financial input that offers stability in the medium-term at least, an owner that aspires to higher divisional status and actively seeks this...
...and the retention of CAFC's autonomy and identity.
    Sweet Dreams...
