My only fear is...the longer this goes on for, increases "a potential" for a survival at the death celebration, where they just about get out of the bottom 3 on the last game of the season.
That would be awful.
Lots of winnable fixtures coming up for them over the next few weeks. Despite their pathetic start, they could easily beat Everton and stoke in their next two and they'd be right back in contention. Far too early to count any chickens yet.
The positive for me is that I guess they'll have to be one of the top ten sides in the country between now and the end of the session in order to stay up.
Could easily win but could easily lose them games. Need 4 wins in next 8 just to keep in touch
Sadly they’ll stay up and this joyously hopeful thread will slide away like last season . Such a shit start yet they aren't as far away from safety as you’d have hoped . Fingers crossed they stay down there but losing 1-0 away at Spurs isn’t a result of a team that are dead and buried just yet

Right I’ve had enough - go start your own positive Palace thread.

True, but when their best player by a country mile goes around the Spurs keeper and has an open goal to shoot at and it goes wide you know the rest of their season is totally screwed...

Just don’t want you getting everyone excited like last season and it all going tits up ! When it comes and it will one day then there’ll be dancing in the streets ...
I think the next few games will tell us a lot about their prospects, as they have a run of games against the teams around them until Christmas.
On the one hand they're much weaker opposition, on the other there will be a lot more pressure on them to pick up results, and such tension will lead to mistakes...
Theres some pessimistic sods on here. They are glued to the bottom. They look hopeless. They have an ex England manager at the helm. It's the perfect storm.

Last season was a freak. They hired the only manager who could save them, and he still nearly fucked it up. This time there’s no Sunderland. Swansea are poor, but beyond that, they don’t have two other basket cases to prop them up.
The usual contenders for relegation places are the three teams who were promoted the year before. So far this season Newcastle, Brighton and Huddersfield are all playing well and getting points on the board. Although this won’t last and they will probably have a poor run, importantly these three promoted teams all have currently collected 15 and 14 points. Add goal difference to this, and Palace need 11 and 12 points just to overcome these teams. Even in early November although not impossible it is stil a big ask.
There is still a long way to go, but if I was a Palace fan I would be getting very worried now. So far so good.

If I were a Palace fan, I'd be trying to work out if there are three teams worse than them in next season's Championship.

Hopefully Zaha picks up an ingrown toenail too.
