I think bowyer now knows a bit more about who he can trust to fight for the team. Pearce is immense for this team, another Jackson in the making

Wow! What a performance!! Everyone just immense, especially second half. As I said on match thread, but for some questionable last ball decision making it would have been more. Who cares though.

It makes the performance last weekend look even more perplexing.

Lee Bowyer instills confidence. He has been saying right from when he took over, "we will make the playoffs". I like that.

Finally got the VPN working and was just in time for Ajose’s goal.

We played very well again. Amos made some vital saves there.

    Fingers crossed Fosu is ok.

Next two games I will be there, can’t bloody wait!!!!

    Well done to Bowyer.

Was very jealous of that away end. Looked quality

Fantastic result. We don't have a great record against them, and Pompey and I go way back. Will be able to jeer my old Portsmouth Poly buddy who is now in Sydney.

Gotta say, I have never been so confused about the team as now. Are we any good, or not?

Our team appears to have found its long misplaced backbone - could RD ever so kindly sod off before next Saturday?

Great result - Still not 100% in our own hands but would rather have the points on the board at this stage of the season than be in Plymouth's position. As said above it looks like the pressure is getting to them - Never did think they were all that just had a bit of form for a few months can easily see them falling away.

Great performance. We set the tone right at kick off when instead of knocking it backwards into our midfield, Fosu took it from Ajose and drove forwards immediately. It only resulted in a throw to them, but it showed our intent to start fast and we were great for 20 mins, just failing to find that clear sight of goal.

Every player played their part today. The work rate was exceptional. Would be harsh to single anyone out, but delighted for Ajose, hopefully we'll get a little run of goals from him now. JFC and Reeves covered every blade of grass, Kashi worked tirelessly and was running on empty from around 80 mins but still charging around the place making an absolute nuisance of himself (in a good way), Bauer and Pearce both coped well with possibly the best striker in the division, and Amos made some fine saves and dealt with several dangerous crosses well on the odd occasion they broke through. Mention to Marshall too, not yet produced anything special in attack but what a sub to be able to bring on to help see out the game.

Loved watching that, a competitive game with something important and positive riding on it and we only went and bloody won it too!

Will be some tired tired legs after the last two Herculean efforts and 5 games in 2 weeks. Hopefully with a week's rest we can patch enough of a team together to give Blackburn similar problems. They will be trying to win too which I actually think plays into our hands more than a team trying to just stop us.

It's been a while but finally we have something get excited about.

If bowyer gets us up he deserves a knighthood
Bouncing back from 2 bad games with wins away at Shrewsbury and Pompy is very impressive

Brilliant brilliant win. Got to hand it to Bowyer.
Watching the fa cup semi at Wembley and wondering if we’ll all be there in a few weeks ;-)
  • What a win, absolutely fantastic performance from the players, coaches and fans.

Didn’t see the goal, I was too busy on skybet.

Overall. My favorite Charlton performance for a long time. We were outstanding.

Ben Amos, you were brilliant. Man of the match. Incredible saves.

On the train back to Portsmouth Harbour. What a ‘Kin performance from start to finish. For once we did turn up for the truly magnificent support. Some people will be surprised by my choice of MOTM but it was Ben Amos for that save from the Pitman free kick just when they were starting to threaten ... ‘kin worldy. We’re on a rollercoaster and I don’t want to get off just yet #COYA

Even by Charlton standards this is quite remarkable.
Lose to Wimbledon and Scunthorpe and then win away at Shrewsbury and Pompy. You couldn't make it up.
Absolutely no excuse for not getting our biggest gate of the season next week.

It's the hope that kills you but in Bowyer we trust.

Great result...only thing now is Blackburn win next week they are promoted. So with over 3000 fans could be iffy for us...Fed up with seeing teams getting promoted/winning championships at the valley on our last home game of the season.

    Sitting on Fratton station, elated
Every man played their part as did every supporter except the idiot throwing the flares.

Pompey supporters have been saying we were the best team and we were tackling, fighting, battling and even playing some decent stacking football, Pompey didn’t really have a chance we fought them off the pitch and we sang for the full 97 minutes

    Wow

Fantastic! Huge game next week. Rovers playing really well we have to match them and put our chances away ....bet it comes down to Rochdale game though, typical Charlton!

    An interesting snippet of info about recent form;

The teams in 4th, 5th and 6th places (Rotherham, Charlton & Scunthorpe) have all won their last two games.

The teams in 7th, 8th and 9th places (Plymouth, Portsmouth & Peterborough) have taken only 1 point between all three of them in their last two games.

Blackburn can clinch promotion on Tuesday, away to Donny.

Regardless of that ... fuck 'em!

    Lord Bowyer's reign: P 8 W 5 D 1 L 2 F 13 A 4 PTS 11

The five wins: Plymouth, Northampton, Rotherham, Shrewsbury, Pompey. With the exception of Northampton that's four sides in and around the play-offs.

I don't think Rovers' impending promotion will bother His Lordship too much. He'll say to the team: "Let them celebrate their promotion ... on another day, somewhere else. For now, just go out there and beat the fuckers."

    We actually turned up.

Cracking away atmosphere, solid in defence. Pearce a monster.

    Thoroughly enjoyable.

Anyone know what the price for a ticket at Wembley is gonna be?

What a result. Nice one lads. Makes this pint I'm having go down even nicer.
